Summersend Festival Fun in Wintreath
Like the Summersend Festival!Our first Summersend Festival in two years is drawing to a close, so I thought I would take the pulse of festival-goers. What did people have the most doing in this year's festival? Unsurprisingly, many replies were about our major games, with Clickwar being named by Altrio and Spyfall being named by Joslisoniria.
Spyfall is a traditional forum game in Wintreath, and one we probably don't play enough. At the start of the game, all but one player is given the game's location and their role in it, while the other player is told they're the spy. Purely through asking questions, the spy has to figure out the location while the other players have to come to agreement on who the spy is. It's a great game because it's easy to run for hosts and a casual game for players who don't have time to invest in more involved games.
On the other hand, Clickwar is a game I designed and created for a past Summersend. It's a multiplayer clicker game, where players seize territories on a map by being the one to have clicked the most on it. When a player owns a territory, they can name it anything they like, and usually players use it for memes, funny names, and messages to other players in the game. This year's game featured improvements like a capitol system that required players to select the part of the map they want to start from and larger map sizes.
On the other hand, Marzipan mentioned the water balloon spam game and character creation games. The water balloon game is directly inspired by the Neverwinter festival that inspired Summersend itself, where players throw water balloons at each other...they get a point for doing so, and their target loses a point. The character creation games were posted by Michi, and features links to fun character generators you can use to put together a character persona for the festival.
The Spyfall game has already started so sign-ups are closed, but you can still get into Clickwar, the water balloon fight, the character generators, and many other booths and events! The festival will officially close tomorrow, September 4th, but will unofficially remain open to allow games and events to close out. If you haven't already, give the festival a visit. Your Time in Summersend - Event Directory
The Summersend Festival is still in full swing, and we warmly invite you to take part in the festivities if you haven't already! This year's theme is Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Campaign and will run until September 4th! Check out the list of events, and if something catches your eye join in!
MAJOR GAMES
As always, we have some major forum games running throughout the festival! If you want a true competition that spans the course of the festival where you can prove victorious over other players, these are the topics for you! And it wouldn't be a Dungeons and Dragons themed festival without somebody trying to put together a D&D campaign, so check out the link for that as well!
Summersend Clickwar BattleWintreath's multiplayer clicker game, where players click on tiles to rack up points and gain control over the board. Players can join in throughout the festival, but of course the eaarlier you join the longer you have to make your mark in the game!
BOOTHS
A little less involved than a major game, a little more involved than topic spam, this is for when you want something in the middle. Take fun quizzes, join in some discussions, or lend your thoughts, songs, or image to a group effort! Perfect for those with a little time to spare or who are killing time between other Summersend events.

What's Happening NowNews from Wintreath
Citizenship Law Discussion OpenedSvipjoth has opened up a discussion about our Citizenship laws, which started earlier in the summer. Some want to update the NationStates nation requirement to prevent "zombie Citizens", or Citizens who have not been involved in Wintreath for months or years beyond maintaining a nation. They argue that it would bring the requirement in line with other Citizenship options, which require people to make an active contribution of some kind. Those who want to keep the law as is argue that it's important to the open nature of Wintreath and that updating the laws would make things harder for Citizens who need to take an absence.
Thane Elections Conclude!At the end of nominations, there was no more than one candidate running for each position, so every candidate won by default:

Gleamford) for Thane of Embassies,
TGN (
The Greenlandic North) for Thane of Regional Affairs, and
Dawsinian for Thane of World Assembly Affairs. All will take or resume office on September 7th except for Dawsinian, who has already started transitioning into Wintreath's delegacy (Wintreath WA Nations: have you endorsed him yet?)
There's a new Winball emote avaiable to people on the forums based on the Wintreath flag! This emote was created by
TGN (
The Greenlandic North) over the summer and has been an emote on Discord since then, but was only added to the forums this week. In his reply to the news, TGN said he would soon create a new emote based on the new Wintreath flag, so look forward to that!
