A couple notes before we start this RP.
First off, this is NOT an alternate timeline. This all takes place currently.

Joslisonorian Chancellor Taren sat up to deliver his speech. "Senators, I have an announcement. Recently Joslisonorian research teams found a crater from the bombardment of the civil war. After investigating more closely, a strange facility, abandoned, was underneath the earth." Taren cleared his throat. "And inside, they discovered a large amount of lethal missiles capable of destroying an entire starbase metro. And more." The senators mumbled. "It is with my interest to arm our starships with this technology, for the safety of the fleet." A senator from Reskton starbase stood up. "But, with that much power, it would violate the treaty! Sure we may be allowed to own WMDs, but we can't take on weapons of that size and power!" The room exploded with arguments. "Silence!", commanded Taren. We shall vote. All in favor?" Out of the 50 members and chancellor, 22 raised their hands. "All oppose?" 23 raised their hands. "In favor wins." A senator who voted to oppose slammed his hands on his table. "This is outrageous! We had more than them! 23 is higher than-" Taren raised his hand for silence. "Yes, but the 22 who voted for have 2 votes, for their starbase is larger as opposed to your 1." He sat back down. "Now, senate dismissed."
