How to Find Your Place in Wintreath
Yeah! That's the spirit! New to Wintreath? Looking to get into the community but aren't sure where to start? If this is you, check out our clubs and guilds! These are smaller groups within the community that can be easier to settle into, especially if you're still getting a fill for things. The difference between them is that guilds are government institutions that help run and grow some part of Wintreath, while clubs are more casual groups formed by Citizens that come together for a common purpose.
Membership in guilds and clubs are usually open to both Citizens and non-Citizens, but you will usually need to be on our
forums and
Discord to take part in them. So what are you waiting for? Join a guild or a club and start exploring a part of Wintreath!
GUILDS- The Dungeon Masters is our gaming guild, which has played a huge role in transforming Wintreath into a real gaming community! As a member, you can lend your voice to conversations about what kind of games we want to put on, get help putting together your own events, and earn points and promotions for being a part of it all. To join, just join our Discord and DM our Thane of Gaming Arenado or our Jarl of Culture Marzipan.
- Rollspelskra is our roleplaying guild. Here you can nominate and vote on official monthly RP themes and start your own member RP at any time, knowing that the people in it know the basic rules about RP etiquette so the experience is the best it can be. If you'd like to join Rollspelskra, join the forums, take the etiquette exam, then apply here!
- The Hearthkeepers is our group of welcomers. As a Hearthkeeper, you help welcome new nations to the NationStates region, wish our members a happy birthday, put together NationStates RMB events, and more. It's all about keeping Wintreath the warm and friendly space that everyone knows it for! If you'd like to join, join our Discord and DM Wintermoot.
CLUBS- The Howling Bells is Wintreath's furry club, which is so new that it's still being formed! If you're a furry, a furry ally, or just like the art (can you believe how much effort and detail artists put into it?), we hope it'll be a safe space for you to be yourself and talk stories, shows, art, issues, and more. For now, if you'd like to join, just join the forums and post here!
FOUNDING A CLUB- If there's something else that you'd like to found a club around, that's alright too! If you're a Citizen, you can found a club as well. All you need to do is find 4 other Citizens to be part of it, write a charter detailing the purpose and structure of the club, and submit it to the legislature for final approval. The link for The Howling Bells is a good template on how to do this.
If you're trying to figure out how to dip your toes into our community, these are some great ways to get started. It's where you'll find region-mates with the same interests who also want to bring them into the community. Give some a try! Hope to see you there!

Help Solve the Murder at Spookyween!What's Halloween without a weird murder mystery to solve? Courtesy of
Arenado (
North Gralend), this game brings the entire community together with the task of solving the murder of Mr. Spookyween himself! Directions for how to play are at the link, but you can join in at any time until the game closes and all is revealed at the end of October. Examine evidence, question the people present when the crime was committed, and get to the truth to solve...the murder at Spookyween!
In honour of both Halloween and Wintreath's birthday, we're holding an art contest that combines both themes courtesy of
Marzipan (
New Montith): Frozen Hellscape! To take part, just submit some kind of art that you've created that's either Halloween or winter-related (or you can try to get both in!). It can be a story, poem, drawing, comic, meme (oh god ;-;), photograph...any kind of art! To submit something, just post it at the link!
Speaking of writing, our new friends in
Simulacrum are having a
Spookypasta Writing Contest on their NationStates RMB! Write up a scary story, the spookier the better, and post it on the RMB! The winner will be named at the end of the month, and be featured on their WFE (top of the region page, and what a great idea!). And since we're friends, you can post on their RMB from your Wintreath nation, courtesy of our spiffy-new in-game embassy! Thanks to

Help us build a Halloween Bangers playlist by sending in up to 5 songs that are related to Halloween, monsters, or spooky stories! In a few weeks, the playlist will be put up on Spotify for everybody to enjoy! Ruguo, this game promises "simple roles, simple rules, and unbelievably stupid and intentionally frustrating mechanics in the most 'make fun of all the bad times' ways". This should especially be great for roleplayers, as it will require all players to play a role, but should still be a great game for new and old players alike. As mentioned in the main article, the Howling Bells is Wintreath's presumptive furry club, but to become official it must be approved by the Landsraad. Read the Act and the charter that would found the club, and as a Citizen weigh in on it. Voting on the Act will start in several days, and as a Citizen you can cast your vote when it happens as well!

What's Happening NowWintreath News and Happenings
Svipjoth Steps Down from GovernmentBest known as the founder of Rollspelskra, Svipjoth announced that she'll be stepping down from her roles as Thane of Roleplay and Chancellor of the Landsraad to focus on her life offline and on her studies. In her almost-year as part of the government of Wintreath, Svip has moved mountains and made the dream of a revived and active RP guild into a reality. Fortunately she plans to remain as part of the community, for which we are very thankful, but otherwise we wish her the best in all she's doing!
What happens when the Chancellor resigns?Svipjoth's resignation led to a brief discussion of what happens when the Chancellor resigns, which isn't explained in the Landsraad's procedural rules. Currently,
Arenado (
North Gralend) is holding the position as Vice-Chancellor, and the plan is to codify that the Vice-Chancellor becomes the Chancellor as part of the Procedural Rules Update Act, which is discussed in the prior section.
