Ok, I am done being a pacifist. I am leaning on Dolby reads, cause I have none of my own

Ho hum, two posts for the post requirement, then I can think more.

So I had to majorly skim all this to try and get an idea of what was going on, so I probably missed stuff. Please excuse any obvious questions.

Not really sure if I see where the votes and criticisms of Ex came from. Maybe I missed some great analysis, but it sorta seemed like it was brought up once and then everyone jumped on it, but I personally didn't see anything out of the ordinary there. Ditto for the wagon on Vro, especially since the game started with a meme from them in the D1 post, it seems to naturally follow that they might have a picture-only post restriction. Not much proof one way or the other, but I don't feel super comfortable lynching them on that.

Michi faking the role restriction initially made me suspicious, but I can't see any benefit for them to do so as scum, and the information provided struck me as genuine and helpful. So townreading there.

Is Lau's thing weird? Yeah. He says he isn't scum hunting but kinda does so anyway, so I'm not particularly convinced that that one statement should make me suspicious of him. I'ma drink the Koolaid I guess.

Finally all caught up. Sorry, been binging the Last Kingdom with my wife since yesterday. She just contracted shingles, so I'm trying take care of her.

I think Vroendal adds much entertainment to the game with his memes, so I don't want him to die. Yep, simple as that since I don't find him to be particularly scummy.

Between ExLight and Dolby (the wagons with he next most votes), I agree with much of Dolby's assessments in his long wallpost where he had obviously reread through the game to post his thoughts, which felt towny to me. Disagreed with his suspicions of ENE from that one post, though. Don't feel particularly sus of Ex either, but like Dolby's posts more.

Also Laurentus very likely not town imo. Especially when he said he only needs 2 more NL days and doesn't care at all about scum hunting even when he claims town.

"Chief…with all due respect of course your suspects suck." He punched his desk standing up. "Nobody on this list killed my brother." 

"If you truly believe that I need you to PROVE it and not just ignore any potential suspects damn it." As he was speaking a secretary ran in. 

"Sir!" She said breathing heavily. "They found another body, it doesn't appear related to the killings but they want us to investigate anyways."

"Jacob and Sammy go," the two detectives got up and began to gather their coats.

extreme suggestion but in a situational scenario having the players with restrictions to break them (most are lurking or inactive anyway so if they get punished over doing so it won't make MUCH difference) so we know which ones are faking it and which ones are telling the truth could be useful
of course this dances around the border of game ethics so we'd have to make sure the host is fine with this sort of strategy because depending on what terms we're working here it could be problematic

although it's fairly obvious a decent chunk of players is obviously lying about it already

Again you're trying too hard to make people seems "evil" or scummy.

Them getting punished for breaking a post restriction of their role =/= breaking the rules. The rules are what's written on the OP, getting killed by the host due to breaking a pre-set condition of your role is still a part of your role, not a rule infringement.

And as I said it would require clarification with the host first whether or not they're comfortable with this strategic use of the downside of the roles then they can always publicly announce such and edit the OP to add a rule against it.

No. This isn't Evil or scummy. This transcends the spectrum of "scummy" or "towny". I'm just genuinely understand why you'd suggest this. I assume that you didn't mean it in a particularly bad or negative way, so please note that I'm not trying to accuse you of anything here/act condescendingly. You're a great player. But completely OOCly, I definitely do think that this is negative for the thread experience and I hope the host disallows it.

In other news I'd be genuinely surprised if both ExLight and Dolby are town.

You accuse Ex of encouraging players to break the rules, get called out for it, then tap dance backwards and vote for the player who didn't call you out even though you freely admit that you don't think both Ex and Dolby are town. Trying to pocket Ex and get him to turn down the heat?

I've got to go to bed now so I can get a nap before beginning my new night shift tonight so I'm leaving my vote exactly where it was on D1.

I didn't really want to dwell on it too much, but I'll address this briefly.

First off, I tried to make it clear that the first part of my post (above the horizontal rule) wasn't meant to be a read of any kind ("this transcends the spectrum of "scummy" or "towny""). If I may be completely blunt, I believe the idea ExLight proposed goes against the game's core value and I especially didn't like trying to circumnavigate the rules, seeing as this is our host's first game (once again, I don't hold this against you, Ex). I didn't want to come off harsh or mean, so I tried to formulate it mildly. I am not tap-dancing backwards, I just didn't want to fill the thread with a rant about something that doesn't help progress the game and would probably just get everyone riled up against each other. I still hold the belief that the suggestion is damaging to the game, nowhere did I "tap dance backwards". I recognize that my efforts to not start some sort of (possibly toxic) discussion may have appeared as pocketing, but that's hardly the case. To spin this back to the actual game: Why would I try to pocket someone who has openly admitted to tunneling me? I'd rather pocket someone who only has me as a lean or null read.

Secondly, Dolby has posted about his suspicions on me, so I don't get the "player who didn't call you out" part. I scum-read Dolby more than ExLight, even though we were disagreeing in that post. I'm not going to abandon my reads just so I can OMGUS ExLight for his tunnel on me and a suggestion that, whilst I disagree with, I find NAI. I had already expressed my feelings about Dolby earlier.

Agreed. Probably one of the maf team's role ability.

So, to recap, Ex has claimed one-shot vig, Michi claims to be a tracker-type currently at the mercy of KoD's votes, and Aren is a watcher-type who saw Dolby visit Mac the night he died. Dolby is some sort of killer, presumably 3rd party. Lau may not be town, and he's one NL win away from accomplishing his goal.

What really bothers me about the EoD voting is how the votes were split across 3 wagons by players who supposedly anti-NL, but not enough to consolidate on a single wagon. I also find it very interesting that ENE has been a major wagon with speedy traction two days in a row. I kinda want to class ENE as town just from that because something is just not sitting right with me about the ENE wagon.

I'm also suspicious of the Vro wagon for similar reasons. Neither player has said anything that's particularly AI, and Vro is actively contributing despite his post restriction, yet both those wagons took off relatively quickly compared to all the others. Something is off here.

Another aspect of the anti-NL group that rubs me the wrong way is that the pushback came before a night where there were potentially 4 deaths: one lynch, one maf kill, one SK kill, and one vig. That number would have gone up to 5 if Minish hadn't been able to sub in.

That is A LOT of deaths for a single phase, and I feel there's very fishy things going on around the voting just in general.
