  • I was always singing on the inside
    You can't wait forever
    It's only now or never
    Later's just when consequences come
You eat what you've been cooking
You play what you've been booking
    Later's just when consequences come

    Vote: Eastern New England

So roll the dice and take your chances
    Pay the price
Cause every rock you throw is coming back at you
My guns are made of lengthy songs
But others sing through homemade bombs
I'm glad I picked the sweeter tune

  • Whose dish is next to get sliced?

Dramatic tension accompanied by music, as host Red Fallon removes the cover.

    Red: (Sighs) Judges?

Alexa: Dolby, where do I even start?  You came in this game with so much potential, and I was really excited to see what you were going to make for us today, but watching you work was like watching a train wreck happen right in front of my eyes, and I don't think the final result was worth it.

Kris: Unfortunately I do have to agree with Alexa here, I was very disappointed in the result.  For one, the milk to cereal ratio is completely off, and I was getting way too many bits of dry and crunchy pieces of cereal.  Also, I noticed that Alexa's bowl was abundant with fruit, but I only got a piece.

Marty Steward: I don't think I even got a single piece myself.  Also, you didn't use any of the ingredients in the basket...and also, wasn't this supposed to be the main course round?  At best, what you gave us was an appetizer or dessert, or maybe a creative main course if done correctly for a breakfast game...not A Game of Steaks.  So it's for those reasons we have to slice you.

  • A side note regarding that. I've put way to much time into developing this game there is zero chance I would do anything to risk the integrity of the game. I am still me at my core I'm gonna fuck around and mess with y'all but if it looks like I'm giving you info that likely means nothing and is in fact just me being a stupid first time host. I have not and will not ever give anyone info that will help them in this game outside of pertinent information for their role.

Thank you please go back to your regular scheduled mafia game. I expect a full Socks News report soon :p

More news at 4 from your local station, I've been your wolf guide to all things wolf good, Michi.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear

The camera fades in on an interrogation room.  Inside is young girl being interrogated by a detective.

Detective Ronan: Look, we just want to know where his hideout is, that's all.

Rose: I...I can't tell you.  If I tell you, he'll know it was me and he'll kill me.

Detective Ronan: We can put you in protective custody, he won't be able to lay a finger on you.  Just give us some kind of hint, anything.

Rose: You don't understand, he has eyes everywhere.  He's probably even paid off some of your guys, I just can't risk it.

Outside of the room, the Chief and Sergeant are watching as the interrogation continues.

Chief: Damn it, she's giving us nothing.

Sergeant: Well what do you expect? A guy like Tony Falcone, of course she's afraid of talking.  I wouldn't wanna be in her shoes either.

The chief walks out, frustrated, as the Sergeant stays in for a moment to continue listening.  The music suddenly becomes slightly ominous.

Sergeant: (quietly) ...and if she's got any sense, she'll stop talking.

The camera fades out, as it cuts to commercial.

  • I'm fine with a no-lynch, because Lau is strongly implying that he (or we) will learn something through it.

If Lau fakes this as wolf, it's a one-way street to death since we'd find by D2, probably.

Alternatively Lau is a 3p that wins if he gets town to no-lynch or something similar.

Arenado and Michi are the only ones who seem to have restricted or changed posting abilities thus far, or?
How did you even get to these absurd conclusions?

Extremely scummy posts, pushes the idea of a No Lynch D1 which is CONSTANTLY disapproved by veteran, doesn't put his money where his mouth is at, put all responsibility on Lau, and even throws shade at them possibly being 3p. If you're even CONSIDERING the possibility of them not being town why in heavens would you suggest following them?

Also the post restrictions are probably memes. We have ESL players here and restrictions like these would just be brutal/unfair unless roles were handpicked as opposed to randomized.
Meh. "No lynch disapproved by veteran" doesn't mean much to me. Different places play differently, different mechanics encourage different plays. I still think Lau is more likely than not town, but since then I've read something that lead me to believe that Lau probably has another win-con (which is to no-lynch).
No, these are definitely post restrictions. Of course stuff is going to be "unfair" in a bastard game (I don't really believe that post restrictions are unfair, though).

    Aerso's Wall
Aersoldorf: Y'all can lynch me because I won't be that active
Also Aersoldorf: is the second highest poster

Not sure how I feel about this. Seems a bit scummy.
How in the world was I the 2nd highest poster? And how can you even tell here? It's easy at home, but if there's a way to quickly tell how many posts each person has made in this thread please share the knowledge.

Now, I did do an ISO of ENE and discovered that his very first post this game was simply a no lynch vote. He then made another post summing up some thoughts about how different people had acted and then with his 3rd post in this game he spouted this gem. I'm still shocked to discover that at that point I was the 2nd highest poster in the game (assuming his facts are correct since I have no way of verifying). But if you ISO me you'll find that I made ALL of my posts in the span of about an hour or so last night. Which was the point I intended to make when I said that I wouldn't be as active this game. I started a new job yesterday and I cannot make posts from work at this time. I'm in training and so I have to constantly listen to and then emulate my trainer. Even though I did figure out that I could log on and read posts from my phone I simply haven't had the time to do so while at work. So for my entire workday yesterday and today I've not said anything. I also find it rather disingenuous and scummy for him to come at me like this without simply looking at how quickly I made the posts that I made last night and at least acknowledging the FACT that for the majority of the TIME that this game has been underway that I've been absent. At my previous job I could keep my personal email open to notice if I'd been quoted or anything, and also keep the actual game thread open and refresh it from time to time to see if there were any new posts - and then respond. I simply don't have those options available to me now.

It's also true that I still don't really understand my role. I have absolutely no idea of who I am. I have zero powers or abilities at the present time. I've been told that I MAY gain some in the future depending on what happens in the game thread, but I WAS NOT TOLD what triggers this to happen. That's the entire reason that I stated that while I DON'T WANT TO BE LYNCHED, I'm at least willing to say that I don't think it would hurt the town terribly to lynch me instead of a potential power role.

That being said, as much as I'd love to vote for Dolby and try to overcome the NL vote, I'm going to hammer my stake in the ground on what I currently perceive to be the most scummy thing said or done thus far in the game and vote for ENE. I know that I said last night that I was going to vote for Michi, but that was because I found it rather open-wolfy of him to keep saying and striking through the word wolf in every single post he made, but after reading the comments made today I've come to accept that that might actually be a condition placed upon him by our lovely hostess. I'm still mad she never invited me over for tea the last time so that we could discuss books.

    Vote: Eastern New England
There's a "post" tab up top with number of posts by players per phase.

Aerso, please note that I am scum-reading you not for having too little posts or posting them in the span of one hour. I am scum-reading you for pre-emptive defensiveness (and as of this post also of over-defensiveness). I don't mind whatsoever that you have a new job and can only post limitedly, I wouldn't even mind if you only had two posts up to this point. What I do mind is when you're hiding behind it. For large parts of your posts above you're talking about how you cannot post that much. Yet you have one of the highest amounts of posts (can't check right now, but I'm assuming). It strikes me as overly excusive that you keep talking about your limited posting when, in my opinion at least, it seems like a non-issue.

    Vote: Aersoldorf

  • This is a replay of a pre-recorded segment due to technical difficulties that stemmed from our technical supervisor being asleep on the job

Music plays as the Socks News logo appears on the screen, the camera cuts to two reporters at their desk.

John: Good afternoon and welcome to Socks News at 4, I'm John Jacobson here with co reporter Jacob Johnson.

Jacob: Yes hello and thank you for tuning in.  Our top story this afternoon: An interview with the legendary Glorious Bob.  On the field Robert Barin was able to get an interview with Mr. Bob, and we're excited to share it with you live, let's have a look:

The camera shifts over to the Old London scene

Robert: I'm here with the one and only Glorious Bob, how are you today sir?
Glorious Bob: Glorious Bob is well.
Robert: So there have been rumors that you've been having an affair to a lamp post despite being married to a park bench, is it true?
Glorious Bob: (subtle edits): Indeed brother.  Indeed.  Glorious Bob loves his wife Benchy, but Glorious Bob did have relations with that lamp post.  That lamp post is one majestic fellow.  But Glorious Bob is also envious of sheep.  Glorious Bob does not understand why so many people are not sheeping.  Glorious Bob will return in Glorious Bob 2: Bound for Sheeping.

The camera shifts back to a somewhat disturbed John and Jacob

    John: Well that was something.

Jacob: Yeah, I don't know why he didn't call it Glorious Bob 2: Electric Baagaloo.

John: Sources also say that they say Glorious Bob making a "list" of sorts, but now we're pretty sure what that list is about, so let's move on.

Jacob: According to player Gerrick, Old London is, as quoted, "Literal Hell."  Now I don't know about you folks, but I'd definitely prefer the comfy nature of Old London compared to say...Chicago or Moscow, am I wrong?

John: No you're absolutely right, though I would have probably said Antarctica...way too cold there.

Jacob: Very true.  Also on the news, an owl was seen entering the city of Old London...and I don't have to tell you how odd that is on its own since we don't normally have owls, but this one was seen dropping framed pictures.  My two questions are: Where were they getting all these pictures, and why were they dropping them?

John: Did anyone get hit by these falling pictures in frames?

Jacob: actually yes, it was reported that a young women who was out with her children is actually in a coma after a framed picture of an owl saying "Yes" fell on her head.

John: Tragic.  In other news, are post restrictions the new normal?  Sources say that local postmen and postwomen have taken great lengths to not deliver mail, and will not do so unless their demands are met.  However, they've yet to disclose what these demands are, so we may be seeing an increase of not getting our mail delivered on time.  We've reached out to the local post office for comment, but they've yet to deliver a reply.

Jacob: The Nirvana concert that was hosted by the local spiritual group Lust 4 Love was unfortunately canceled due to riots breaking out over the lack of beverages that were provided.  The group's popular Spirit Juice, which we're being told was juice Kool-Aid spiked with hallucinogens, sold out rather quickly and the attendees grew anxious as they began to tear things apart.  Thankfully nobody in the band that was playing at the time was hurt, and the trouble makers have been taken into custody.

John: Speaking of spiritual things, are we on the verge of a religious war?  There have been disturbing talks of burning heretics included acclaimed religious leader and questionable sheeping advocate Laurentus, mainly by anti-sheep extraordinary Dolby.  Folks have been gearing up just in case things take a turn for the south, and we here at Socks News are no exception.  Shows off his gun, as Jacob does the same.

Jacob: Wolves have been outed as actually being chickens, which have been discovered to actually be Seagulls.  In one of the framed pictures dropped by our mysterious owl visitor, one in particular that caught the crowd's eye was a picture from that meme of the little girl pointing at a group of seagulls and saying "Look at all those chickens!"  Although the word "Wolves" replaced the animal of choice in the picture, followed by an assortment of names.  This seemed to spark debate from some who seemed to call them "geese" and to those folks, we shake our heads in disappointment for not knowing a truly classic video.

John: Finally, Actress Flora Michina has reported on being tired and needing her beauty sleep, not realizing that she's saying this while attending the Nirvana Concert riots.  Sources say that she drank so much Spirit Juice that she was seeing sounds as color, and the sounds were so boring despite all the fighting that she actually laid down in the middle of all of the commotion and fell asleep.

Jacob: That’s all the time we have for now.  Please join us for more news tonight at 11.

Music plays as the two reporters talk casually inaudibly as the screen fades to black.
Glorious Bob appreciates the free press but would prefer if you didn't spin his words. Bob did not have an affair with the lamp post.
