I think that the most toxic things in society today are social media and cable news. I imagine that 30 or 40 years ago, you would get the news through the newspaper or the evening news, get heated about whatever political thing, and then go on about your life and cool down. Now it's in your face 24/7...I've watched people who used to be laid back become obsessed with politics on Facebook and become angry, bitter people that post about nothing but politics anymore. I think it's probably why people hate each other so much...so much that provokes fear and anger out there.

I rarely spend time on social media...a few minutes on Facebook where I have all my friends in a list so I can just see what they've posted in chronological order, and a few minutes on Twitter where I've carefully curated who I follow so that my feed isn't news and politics. I get my news from a variety of sources, but I only check them once a day...I'm not burying my head in the sand, I just don't want to see it all day.

I'm pretty sure my friendship with you has been past 2 years, and it's not going away any time soon.

Even if I disappear from Wintreath, Discord, or both...I'm always on Facebook/Messenger, and I'm even fine exchanging numbers and texting.  :p

What about exchanging grindr accounts?

It's just that you seem so busy so often, I don't want to be a bother or take you away from the things you need to do in your life. We should aim to play a game together more often than once a year, though.

I wish I had advice to give you, but I'm just not a people's person. It surprises me to this day that so many people are willing to put up with my shit.

So yeah. We had a small team building event for one of the teams I used to lead at a local bar. I selected my own replacement when I got promoted, a very talented, if inexperienced girl who has been crushing it as the new team leader. Problem: we hooked up after we left the bar. Now things are very weird. Goddammit. I'm smarter than this...

DDO is okay and all, but if it's alright with you, I'd like to change games.

In reality, I only enjoyed DDO because I liked who I was playing it with.  And the only reason I stopped playing is because I already talk and joke around with you, so the game wasn't really adding much.

It was definitely fun gaming together, but I'd much rather try it with something a bit different.

It's the longest lunar eclipse of the century here in the southern hemisphere tonight. I'll be staring up at the stars in wonder as Mars is also the closest it's been to Earth in a while and there will be a blood moon. I'll post pictures on Facebook and repost them here.

Facebook compresses your images to hell though, so your photo album has already been corrupted the moment you uploaded it.

For actual serious photo archiving, I like to use Google Photos, which has unlimited storage up to 16 megapixels and automatic syncing. And also an offline backup at home, of course.

I've been on a tool buying spree lately. I spent about $600 on tools this month alone.

Upfront costs are really high because I not only start(ed) with absolutely nothing, but I'm a "buy expensive, buy once, money up front" kind of guy. People at work told me I should get cheap tools and upgrade later, but I don't think that makes sense when I can get the best right now and (hopefully) never have to replace them instead of rotating for a while through cheap shit until I've earned the "bones" to carry the good stuff. High end tools won't make me a better tech, but they will last longer and make my life that little bit easier.

Plus, as silly as it sounds, I tend to form emotional connections with objects I use often and I hate it when they break or when I have to sell/throw them out. I'm not a hoarder, I throw out broken things, it just feels like a kind of funeral when I do. I'm willing to pay more for greater life expectancy of objects just so I don't have to feel sad when I have to throw out something that served me well because it became garbage.

I think the important thing is to pay what you can afford. I can afford it, so it's no problem to me. Interestingly, one of my best friends has the same policy concerning opiate addiction.

All that being said, I love my Knipex linesman pliers! And overtime!

Also, I find it kinda funny how I still post here, even though I was pretty much never active in the region and only briefly on NationStates. I don't know why I like hanging out here so much.

So, because I was interested, I did a census on my grindr faves, lol. I discovered that the average age of the guys I've liked is 24 (median age 23), and that should probably be younger because four of the guys that are 29+ are Asian guys that could pass for a decade younger. In fact, 48 of the guys I faved were younger than me, 2 were the same age, and only 2 were older than me (one being one of the aforementioned Asians).

I've already known that I have a thing for younger guys (like 18-24), but I've noticed that most guys that are even open to being with an older guy expect him to take on a more dominant "daddy" role, which I don't think is really me, so...but when has love and relationships not been a challenge for me? And actually, the idea of being dominated by a younger guy in bed thrills me to no end. =3 Of course, outside of bed I want my relationship to be equal, especially with someone who is able and willing to challenge me if I'm actually in the wrong on something.

Even living in a part of the country that's almost entirely white, 10% of the guys I faved were Asian, 8% Black, and 6% Latino. Sadly, only two of them are within 50 miles of me right now, but it's still nice to confirm that my interests are diverse.

Whatever the reason is, I'm glad that you still visit us and keep us up-to-date with how things are going in your life.

Because I've been poor all my life, when I buy something and I can, I make sure to buy higher-quality stuff that will last longer...I don't tend to buy things unless I'm sure I'll use it, and I want the stuff I use to last a long time. I've even got stuff from when I was a teenager, lol.
