GM: The man says in a demanding manner as if he expects his commands to be followed through perfectly "Because I told you to."

All in the room are once again compelled as they were by the first man.

"And, if you do not, I will turn the tables and start attacking you instead."

Edgar finds this potential act of wanton violence to be repulsive, disgusting, and outright villainous...everything he stands against. Edgar believes that violence should only be used as a last resort, and never used just because somebody demands that it be. However, it now appears likely that this man will instead initiate violence himself, something that should also be avoided. Edgar now believes that the best course of action is to immobilize the man until they have more definitive answers.

Action: Edgar attempts to fatigue the man out, while at the same time attempting to revive the party members he fatigued before.

Martha suddenly feels energized again, she pulls out her guns again and aims to cripple.

Martha shoots to cripple the man

Ethan reaches the man, and attempts to grab him in hopes of making him explode.

Kazallu being disturbed by the mind control effect befalling her and possibly her teammates begins to alter the memories of all the other people in the room to believe that the man has died.

ACTION: Kazallu begins to make it so that all in the room believe the target has died.

GM: The target deftly dodges Ethan's hand giving a chuckle as he does so. Martha's Bullet's and Edgar's fatigue ability appear to have no effect.

Because of Kazallu's effect all people in the room except for Kazallu and the target himself believe that the target is completely dead. Killed by a spike on the wall. This effect shall continue until Kazallu chooses to stop it or she expends her energy.

(OOC: I'm still in the story right?)

Something doesn't seem quite right, but Edgar can't figure it out. All is apparently well now that the man is dead, but it seems so odd that someone so agile would be killed by a spike. He eventually chucks it up to luck on their part, and putters around, waiting to be allowed out of the room.

So, uh... What are we doing now?

Axel, the newcomer walks up to the man on the spikes and says:
"You alright there? Oof, that's a nasty wound. I can help you out."
Axel proceeds to start beating the spikes with his cane in hopes of something happening.

Martha reloads her guns and waits for the next instructions.

GM: A man walks into the room looking identical to the man currently spiked against the wall.
"Very clever, Kazallu. When faced with an unbeatable enemy oft the only path is too ignore it's existence. If you don't mind I will remove the effects of your powers from your friends and we will continue."
With a swipe of his hand Kazallu's effect is removed from all in the room and the man on the spikes dissipates into a cloud of soft smoke.
"For explanation, my friends, the man you were fighting was nothing but a simple illusion. Now I want you to move back into the original room and discuss your powers with each other. And get to know each other better. Y'all are more disorganized than most groups."
The door to the original room slides open and the guide begins to walk away and through his own personal entrance.

OOC: I love how the GM has the NPC praise his own character.

Edgar gives a frown, obviously not happy that they were essentially tricked, but proceeds with the rest of the group nonetheless.

"Well then. Where do we start?"

"Probably best to describe what our powers do. Once we've got the basics it's possible to work out ways of using powers together to be a more effective unit." Simple training methods, Klause thought to himself.

His power had already given him a rough estimate of what everyone could do, but he was now interested in coming up with how to work most efficiently. His head thrummed with anticipation.
