After a brief delay, I am happy to announce the membership of the current session of the Overhusen! The Peers serving in the Overhusen this session are myself, Reon, Jone, and Pengu! A chairman has not been selected yet, but will be as soon as possible.

Of course, Reon and myself served in the last session, but Jone and Pengu are newcomers! Jone has been a fixture of our community since he arrived, and also served in the Underhusen during the last legislative term. Pengu is fairly new to the region as well, but has already contributed much to our regional culture and has experience in NS/regions from his time in 10000 Islands. I'm sure both will do wonderfully during this term.

On the flip-side, I have chosen not to reappoint Butterspring or Weissreich. While both have served admirably in the Overhusen in the past, neither has been active in the last few months, and I believe that government positions should be held by active people whenever possible. I would happily appoint either back to the Overhusen in the future if and when they are able to be more active in the region.

I look forward to working with everyone in the Overhusen to best represent the interests of the Monarchy.

Curious, but what sets apart Jone and Pengu specifically from other established memberd of the community?   No I'm not asking about myself if people are wondering.

In general, I consider involvement with the community, both through general posting and involvement in specific things (governmental, cultural, etc), the amount of time they seem to have, their prior experience and demonstrated interest in government affairs, their ability to be respectful while presenting their points and views, and what my perception of their ability to represent the Monarchy and its interests while still presenting valid points and ideas of their own. The point of the Overhusen is to represent the Monarchy, after all.

I'm not going to answer what sets them apart from any specific other individuals, because that would be highly inappropriate.

Also, in general I do not select people that ran for the Underhusen, because I don't want the Overhusen to be seen as a political safety net for people that lose Underhusen elections. Chanku was a special case last term because if his prior experience in leading a chamber of the legislature.

Congratulations you two! Well deserved and no hard feelings you seat-poaching scoundrels I jest, I jest.

Congratulations on your appointment Jone, as I think you're an excellent person for it. 

And thank you very much for this opportunity.  I promise that I will do my hardest to make sure that my service in the Overhusen is dictated with both the interests of the monarchy and community in mind.

Yeah, my schedule didn't really allow for me to participate in the culture of the region. However, I would have done my Overhusen stuff, provided things actually passed the Underhusen. (They didn't.) In any case, another round of congratulations!

I know you would have, and I've always appreciated your service in the Overhusen...but the last time you posted outside the Overhusen other than to announce an absence was in June, and I didn't feel it was fair to people who have been involved in the community since then. I've always thought you've done great in the Overhusen itself though.
