Weissreich's Campaign HQ
Hello one, hello all! I'm greatly honoured to accept Denth Kasten's nomination for candidacy, and I hope to prove his trust in me well-placed once again.
I feel that the region has come along leaps and bounds during the 3rd term, but I'm concerned that activity is still lacking. As with my previous platform, I hope to incite activity both through creating the opportunity for it and by passing legislation that will hopefully encourage newer members to stay with the region and enjoy what we have to offer.
Primarily, my means to this end has been the
Chronicles forum, where I'm sure many of you have seen my postings in the
Oh, The Places You'll Go In Wintreath and the
Establishment of Setting threads. Although an admittedly limited aspect of the region, I feel that the culture and RP elements of any region are important to its success - a vibrant community of active members surely follows from a community setting that is conducive to activity!
However, I also feel it important to note that the Underhusen has suffered from a lack of activity. Whilst we've taken measures to counter this by increasing the number of seats for the 4th term, hopefully encouraging newer members to stand for election, it's vital that the next sitting pass laws that both aid the community and serve viable purposes. This might sound like a self-evident statement, but many of the amendments and laws passed this terms have been focused around specific issues such as the freedom of information and the honourary citizenship acts.
In regards to myself, I work for a think-tank in London that advises the British government on policy, although they rarely listen to us because they're big-headed and think they know best (which they don't). I believe this gives me a unique perspective on the legislative process and I hope that it will allow me to bring something a little special to the table which will make Wintreath all the more attractive to both prospective members and old-timers! I'm an adherent of the principle of hegelian dialecticalism: the merging of two ideas to form one better suited to the needs of the moment, and hopefully this will prove useful in debates.
Thank you for your consideration! Questions and comments are welcome, as always!
