Hey there everyone! I know some of you have been waiting to see what the result of all of my useless blathering on Discord and on the forums is, and here you go! After about 14 days of working, this is my pilot for the newly re-envisioned Posh Penguin!  I hope you have a good time checking out the articles, and I always appreciate feedback as well.

The Posh Penguin: March 2018 Issue

With this issue, my main focus was to get it out there as a sort of test.  This is a completely new program I'm trying out, since I like the look of it compared to just posting everything on here (PDF form just looks better too).  It's less formatting codes to have to throw in, which is nice.  But it also gives more style opportunities, which I'll be playing with in the next issue.  And since I'll have the full 30/31 days for the next issue, I'll also be doing longer articles as well.

But in any case, I do hope you enjoy this issue, as well as the future of the Posh Penguin!

Those are some quality articles! I really enjoyed reading them, especially the article about Thane of Werewolf elections. I thought the whole thing looked really professional, definitely gives the Orendi a run for its money there.

Speaking of the Orendi, it doesn't necessarily have to be serious or hard-hitting news about the region, it's just that is what people have written about. Sometimes I try to push the envelop with things about interesting topics that aren't necessarily news, but where I'm more serious-minded by nature there's only so much I can do.

I was just speaking of the overall sense.  I think it's because since it's an official publication that is dispensed to other regions, people take it a bit more seriously...so that's how it comes out.  There've definitely been Orendis with less-serious articles (I should know since I've submitted some ), but as a whole it's meant to be a more serious, sort of "state of the region" address that goes out to allied regions.

That's right, the Posh Penguin is once again re-opening the doors and working on some new articles just for you...with some new changes!

Reviews of the Month will be altered to review books, movies, and TV shows.  Video game reviews will be moved to their own upcoming publication: The Penguin Plays.  There, you'll be able to find unfiltered and detailed reviews on games ranging from classic, to indie, to current blockbuster hits.
 It'll be all video games, all the time.

Articles such as Posh Crossword and Exquisite Exam will no longer be added, and instead will be given way for more articles and Funny Pages content.

Be sure to be on the lookout, we'll be hitting you very soon with the latest Publication.  And stay on the lookout for the very first issue of The Penguin Plays, hitting you sometime later this summer!

And because I'll be using a different program to publish the magazine (the other one was web based, and thus automatically awful for larger projects), that means a new cover!

What program are you using, if you don't mind me asking?

I was using a website called Canva for the previous issue.

For the current one, I'm learning and using Adobe Indesign.

Nice, I just learned to use InDesign for the latest Orendi issue as well so that I can take care of it when Hydra's busy.

See the section that almost made it into this issue (but didn't because it'd look weird unless it was a legit published piece)!  The text at the bottom is viewable when viewing the image at full.

Try making Thor semi-transparent and shoving him behind the text perhaps?

There's also some hosting services out there that display the publication in book style by default, I think.

The first might look good.  I was actually trying to mimick how Game Informer does random adverts, but it doesn't translate well in non-published form.
