Maybe for me. For the rest of the region, it all took place over the course of a few hours...we're fortunate that the few attempts at power plays and politics in the region have never dragged on like they do in some other regions.

New Hyperion is fortunate enough to have never had a power-play. Indeed, no one will even try to dethrone me as Chancellor, which can get rather dull.

In fairness that's probably the only absolute power-play that ever actually happened in the region, and maybe in a way it's my fault...I've always wondered if the fact that we were all close friends in a group at one point made them feel entitled to more prestige and power. It's probably why I've been more cautious about being part of a clique of friends since. =/

I don't quite get why being Crown Prince wouldn't be enough.

That said, we have quite a few mods and admins in New Hyperion, and each one can do pretty much whatever he wishes. And it's never been abused. Perhaps the thought that each Lord has that power makes it something that's not actually that big of a deal, and thus isn't conducive to power plays. The Autarch has a very laissez-faire approach too, and we're pretty much able to do anything we want to with our positions, understanding that the Autarch will just look in from time to time.

I think it really just depends on the people, though.  Each community is different because they get different types of members.

In the end, some places like here will get people like Denth who could have Admin powers and then try to pull a stunt like that, and then whine when he's resigning about how he was never appreciated and never felt like he was rewarded for his efforts...you know, despite him getting admin powers.

I would be happy to ease the monarch's burden a little and take on these responsibilities.  I believe it's very reasonable for these tasks to be included in the Ministry of Integration.  Although with everything I'm involved in currently, I would finally get around to appointing a Thane.
