Welcome to the official event thread for the Writing Contest! In this event, I will ask you all to submit a story to me via PM on the theme I give you.
The RulesYou will have four days to write a short story, in any style you wish and as long as you want it to be (although I'd ask you don't go over, say, 15k words for the sake of judging) on a prompt or idea that I will give you. Please title as following:
[SUBMISSION]{Your name}.
You will submit your short story to me VIA PM, not in the thread, so people will not know which story was written by who.
Once the 4 days have passed, I will create a thread and in spoilers post up each story for you to vote on. I will not tell you whose is whose. Once a further two days have passed, I will tally up the votes and announce the winner!
Submissions MUST be in by Wednesday 16th of this month.
Your prompt is:
Write a story around the theme of a new world.
This can be anything from a 1600's setting with the Americas as the 'new world' or a 2580 setting in which humans land on a new planet for the first time. The minimum word count is
500 words and the maximum word count is
2,000 words.
