What-ho, fellow Wintreans!
As required by the latest development in the Jarl of Culture election/whatever-it's-called, each candidate has to create and run an event entirely by themselves to demonstrate their capabilities. Now, I understand a lot of you aren't GMT, and my own time constraints make it rather unviable for me to run a game-related event.
So instead, I present to you: the Writing Contest!
The rules are very simple, and anyone can join in. In efforts to promote culture, as well as RP involvement, I thought that establishing some sort of contest for writing would be a good place to start.
The RulesYou will have four days to write a short story, in any style you wish and as long as you want it to be (although I'd ask you don't go over, say, 15k words for the sake of judging) on a prompt or idea that I will give you.
You will submit your short story to me VIA PM, not in the thread, so people will not know which story was written by who.
Once the 4 days have passed, I will create a thread and in spoilers post up each story for you to vote on. I will not tell you whose is whose. Once a further two days have passed, I will tally up the votes and announce the winner!
Current ideas for a prompt:- Write a story set in a post-apocalyptic setting about finding friendship.
- Write a story about an explorer discovering the New World.
- Write a story set in space about humanity colonising new worlds.

This thread isn't the official thread for this event, but I'd like to see who would be interested in this, as well as a few ideas for what topic I should give you. I will be entering the event myself as well. I don't know what the winner will get, but I'm sure we can think of something. Perhaps a user-bar to go in their signature? We'll see.
