Donation Page Sprucing

The donation page has been spruced up, with the list of contributors moved from the Google spreadsheet to the actual page. Probably not the most visited page, but at least now it looks pretty. It's also been given the new clean URL of wintreath.com/donate/

Just a heads-up that I'm considering merging the Amalyan Quarter and the Frostmist Arena. If anyone sees an issue with this please post.

Would the sub-forums remain?

Yes

The Frostmist Arena has been merged into the Amalyan Quarter...there's now a one-stop shop for everything related to regional events, contests, and competitions.

Front Page Sprucing Up

I spruced up the front page of the forums some...tried to make them look less clunky and easier to navigate. Let me know what you think.

Looks weird, but I think I'd get used to it (probably just used to the old layout).

That said, the child boards being located farther away on the screen from their parent boards is a bit confusing, especially since now they're just as close to the board under them.

Yeah, I plan on doing some more work with the child forums, but that's a project of its own.

Basically I'm trying to make the forums look more modern and less cluttered, and I'm going to go through each page of the website one at a time. Afterwards, I hope we'll be in good shape to make some alternative skins that people can choose from. I for one miss having a dark skin.

Sorry for the double-post. Since the child forum thing didn't gel with some people in the IRC as well, I made a few changes that hopefully make it clear which forums the children belong to.

I'll echo the child boards issue, but further than that, I could get used to it.

Something I really love from Balder's forum is the Timertina theme, which looks very nice to me. Is a similar theme possible here?

I'm not sure...obviously we can't go around taking other forums/forum services themes, but we can reproduce themes to a certain extent. That particular one is graphics-heavy though...we don't have much active graphics talent around, so we'd be limited to whatever royalty-free graphics we could find.

Ooh people's pictures!! Nice!!

Eh, I dislike it. Leads to an odd thing for people that don't have profile pictures... besides it does make formatting odd for me (titles being pushed down mainly)...and seems unnecessary...

I liked what I saw this morning, but IMO the avatars clutter up space and draw attention away from the actual important info.

I like how the website keeps changing even as I type this out. Looks much better now, with the small images.

I think the topic/post counts should also probably be made smaller too.

Edit: Actually, now that I'm actually browsing, the pictures still are a bit too distracting for me, personally (especially at their current placement). I suppose I could get used them after some time, though.

Woah!!  It looks a lot different now!! Perhaps I should take a break before Wintermoot decides on something... this is like riding a roller coaster!!
