Updated Forum Main Page - This update is actually a long time coming. Several weeks back, I made several potential different mockups and showed them off on IRC. Amongst everyone that saw them, the mockup that is now on our main forum page was the one everyone preferred. The various boxes include space for regional announcements, a donation notice, the listing of government officials, and a random box that I stashed a picture in for now until it has a more permanent purpose. Also, the return of the shoutbox!!! long hidden since December.

Is that good or bad?

I've made some slight changes to the update I rolled out yesterday based on feedback...while most people liked the changes, I got feedback that it was problematic for people using lower-resolution monitors, which I confirmed upon testing. Particularly, the sidebar was very small and looked bad, and the text in the top boxes had a tendency to either run out of the boxes or stretch the boxes to different sizes. Since I don't really want to make and support two different versions of the front page, I made some slight changes.

Specifically, I have made the sidebar fixed-width, and removed the "Box of Random" to make more space for regional announcements. The Box of Random was really just an extra box I didn't know what to do with to start with...I just had it there because I liked the symmetry. If we have need for another box, I think we can easily add it to the sidebar.

I'll continue to make changes as needed...

Well, it depends on some factors like organization or availability. (MAYBE)

Personally I like it. The design is smooth and clean, it's simple and in all honesty does all we need it to do. Excellent work, Mootles

I like it. I notice there is a small white spec just to the left bottom of the shoutbox. But it's nothing you should fix, probably .

Overall looks good though.

Is there any way you could add a mibbit (equivalent) linky to the Wintreath IRC channel? Somewhere, somehow.

If you go to the top menu and click on Chat that will take you to a page with mibbit.
