Other than that, I am new to this and can what else is there to do besides the issues? I find it kind of annoying that everything is done by the nation states system. I would like to be more involved than the game allows for.
In terms of what there is to do, most of the interesting stuff is done by regional communities as Wintermoot said earlier.
Some aspects of the game to get involved in are:
- Roleplay, there are many regions that center around roleplay, and others that have roleplay subcommunities. We don't have any in wintreath, but you can also RP on the NS forums (
https://forum.nationstates.net/viewforum.php?f=3&sid=329d534c65ddbc635e91923a4b89357b) I noticed you said you were into sports, and there's actually an NS forum specifically for sports RP: https://forum.nationstates.net/viewforum.php?f=7
- The WA, and more specifically the GA. The GA is basically if the UN had the power to pass binding legislation for all of its members, and deals with that kind of stuff. If you do want to get involved in that, this is the link to its NS forum:
https://forum.nationstates.net/viewforum.php?f=9&sid=329d534c65ddbc635e91923a4b89357b The other part of the WA, the SC, mostly deals with Gameplay, which is the part of the game that deals with interregional politics.
- r/d, also known as raiding/defending is a major aspect of Gameplay. This is the closest the game has to any military action, as it consists of raiders trying to either tag (vandalize with promotional messaging) or occupy (and either destroy or size as a trophy) other regions, as well as defenders trying to stop said raiders. r/d is a team effort no matter what side you're on, so you're not going to be able to do that on your own. We don't have a military or participate in r/d here in wintreath, so if you want to do that you need to join another region.
- Often regions will have some form of regional government with legislatures and executive branches you can participate in. Wintreath doesn't really have this, although once upon a time in earlier days before my time here it used to.
- Card farming. NS has a cards minigame where you can collect cards. Some people are really dedicated to this and will spend hours using scripts to farm cards across dozens, hundreds, and sometimes thousands of puppet accounts. This is NS's trading cards forum: https://forum.nationstates.net/viewforum.php?f=42If you want more info on anything specific, just ask. I have a bunch of resources for most of them that I can give to you, although for others all I can do is point you towards the discord server for that part of the game.
