It's the return of the oh wait no way you're kidding?
She didn't just really bring back Spyfall did she?

That's right my fellow Wintreans after almost a full year without a Spyfall game the glorious social deduction game returns in all its glory and I'm here to take you on that journey!


What is Spyfall? Spyfall is a social deduction game. At the beginning of the game all players less one are given a physical location, the player who doesn't get the location is the spy.

In thread a randomly selected player will ask the first question to another player. That player will truthfully answer the question and ask a player of their choice a question. This process will continue until a player thinks they have solved the game. Try to keep your questions and answers vague the spy is trying to correctly deduce the location of the game. The players are trying to correctly guess the spy.

At any time the spy may in thread guess the location of the game. A correct guess ends the game in favor of the spy and an incorrect guess ends the game in favor of the players. A player may also at any time call a vote if they believe they know the identity of the spy. A vote will be held and if majority is reached the player selected will reveal if they are the spy.

Of course it wouldn't be me if we didn't change things up and add a little chaos. Instead of guessing the location of the game the spy will be trying to correctly deduce the goal of the players and will know where the game takes place. The players will still be looking for the spy. The spy will also have a secret private win con that also serves to eliminate players from the game.

Every player except the spy will be given an extensive backstory try to keep your answers within the confines of the character you are playing as well.

And welcome to the game.


This game is variable and can accommodate any number of players from 4 to 400 so let's try to make the return of Spyfall a grand spectacle!

Welcome to Waterdeep. The single most important city in Faerun sitting upon the sword coast the City of Splendor holds up to its name in person.

Here you wander down the cobblestone paths looking at shops all around you as the bustle of the city around you shakes you to your core. Conversation with the party around you feels nigh impossible.



You look back down at your map and scan the shops around you. Up in the sky you see the dark clouds off the coast rolling in ominously. Guards on griffins soar through the skies above your head. You hurry down the cobblestone paths deeper into the city until you spot a bustling tavern a Golden Sun medallion hanging off the overhang. You smile finally finding safety from the incoming storm.



Here you will spend the rest of the day and deep into the night partying with your friends and your enemies. Tomorrow the real mission will start.

*the host slams the book closed on the table and nods*

Can I ask why?

I had no reason to believe is wasn’t seeing as you left without a statement to the contrary, to be fair. If you’re still intending on managing this, by all means. 

I left the discord yes. However I was and still am very available to have a conversation. Canceling my Game without asking me makes me feel like their was intent. 

I am still playing Werewolf still posting on the forums and still available there was no reason to not talk to me.

Alright, let's not get into it here.

Marz was simply going by precident that when someone leaves the Discord abruptly after a situation and without a word, they also end up leaving the region as well as the forums.  We've had this happen before in the past with us having to cancel or re-host games, so it was assumed this was following that same past precident.

This is no one's "intent" except to ensure that we weren't potentially running sign ups for a game that the host had long since decided to dip out on.

However, if you're still wanting to host your game, then absolutely have at it.  But please don't levy accusations like that at Marz or anyone else, thanks.

Just to be abundantly clear my accusations are not at one person. 

This was handled so unbelievably poorly and the reaction to it was handled even more poorly. 

I deserved a message before players were told my game is canceled without my knowledge. 

The game will be canceled now however by my decision. 

Hence my "anyone else" remark.

And as I said, Marz was simply going by precident.  Could it have been messaged to you to make sure you were still going to host? Absolutely.  However, in Marz's defense we've done just this consistently in the past in similar situations and have either been met with no response or snark if the person left on particularly bad terms.  While this isn't really an excuse as to why you weren't DMed about it, it's more of a hoping you can understand why Marz may have not done so when you left the Discord so abruptly in a similarly upsetting situation.

However, as mentioned this is a two way street.  At any point when you left, especially since you had posted in Werewolf, you could have likewise reached out to myself or Marz with even a "I'm still going to host Spyfall, as an FYI" so it's not assumed you're leaving the region entirely if your WW post was missed (which for all Marz and I knew could have been you saying you were ducking out of the game).

But since you've decided to cancel the game yourself, I'll go ahead and lock this thread.  Any further responses to our current convo can be continued in DMs.
