As you know, our region has suffered the loss of several prominent members of the community and government due to real life...obviously, the loss to our community is great, but the loss to our government is a severe blow...members of the Riksråd are dedicated, talented, active individuals that are difficult to replace, especially in a new region such as ours. And yet, filling these positions are vital to the future of our region...the members of the Riksråd do the work of the Executive Government that I'm not able to do, since our region has grown much larger than something one man can take care of.
Given the circumstances, I feel that some experimentation is in order.
Article 2 Section 2 of the Fundamental Laws gives me the authority to delegate Executive powers and offices however I see fit. I have decided to hold elections for the vacant positions of Jarl of Culture, Jarl of Information, and Jarl of Foreign Affairs during the upcoming regular election...essentially it will follow the same model of having one week for nomination and one week for elections, with the result being announced at the same time as the Underhusen and Overhusen results.
That being said, there will be some differences as well, as this is not a Constitutional election and I'm merely planning to appoint the winner of the election to the various positions. Candidates for Jarlship elections will need to have at least 100 posts by the time the election starts, on April 1st. Additionally, candidates should be aware that the Riksåd has recently decided to enact a 3 post per day requirement to serving in the Riksråd for each month that they serve (calculated by #posts in a month/#days in the month) We're looking for active, dedicated members of the community to serve in these important positions...please consider that when deciding whether to run.
In any case, I hope we will get some interested people...good luck to anyone that decides to run!
