Game Over on Round 5 Day

I didn’t realize that Lau was trying to neutralize us until it was too late- hence my bass ackwards reasoning for targeting him- I legit thought you were a threat to town. Little did I know you were just a threat to wolves getting to upgrade. *sniff*

Dolby though, I could smell you.

No more 2 am conspiracy theory Marz though- tying y’all together in my sleep fog really screwed the pooch there.

With the context that you started the game out as Town but were called Wolves explains your resistance. I think Vro just knows the way I think too damn well and was able to piece together my intent with the NLs.

Yeah we had very little to go off of- just the fact we were wolves and won with town, but that something could change that. And all I saw was “corrupt town… corrupt town…” and I was like YOOOO this is for sure a role-swap game. And I thought for sure I had it unpacked lmao. 

I still can’t believe {insert player here} name dropped their targets casually and it just went under the radar. But that’s not entirely fair because I went over the game docs the moment I landed in dead chat, so I knew that dynamic lmao

Anyways, good game. And congrats on the no lynch- I didn’t think it’d actually happen when you mentioned it but it’s you so of course you pulled it off

I had some things wrong from this morning. I thought Vro was the coroner because he had info on the dead that felt like they would come from a coroner's report. 

I sent this to Abi to keep it as reference. It was where I was at with the game state.

A few things were wrong but it was getting close to being worked out. I seriously spent a couple of hours this morning going through lots of things in the thread and interpreting flavor. It was actually a ton of fun, so thanks @Neon Abigail .  

I woke up and was reading everything I had missed. Before I saw that the game was ended I was going to mention that some of the info we were believing came from Dolby and we had no reason to trust him. So that would change the outlook on a few things. And was going to push a Dolby lynch. 

Admittedly, this game was pretty unfair to Dolby as he couldn't control the hints that led to him so I understand ending the game this way. You did do a great job trying to diffuse the suspicion on you though @Dolby so nice job on that. 

Despite it being unfair against the final target, I genuinely had a ton of fun putting all the pieces together. I was up late/early this morning doing what felt like actual detective work. Lmao. Funny since my character was the mayor and not one of the detectives. 


Don't beat yourself up too much Abi. Although it didn't go as planned, I still had a lot of fun after the Neon lynch happened. I'm not dissatisfied with how things went, even if we didn't truly win. This was a decent outcome. Just wish it had went on a bit longer. Haha. 

I think this kinda format could maybe work extremely well as a different type of game that's not Mafia. Just the piecing together bits of info throughout like this. So if you ever plan on doing anything similar, let me know!

I would actually kind of love doing some kind of mafia spin off Detective game using code and shit. If anyone is interested in something like that let me know and I'll work on it because honestly I think I'd be a much better host at that... almost like a spyfall type of deal.

The key was Abi straight up telling me she expected me to fail. Internally, I was like "like HELL I will!" and then began driving my agenda super hard, lol. I had such an impossible win condition and with no role list and nothing to go off of I was more playing to kill as many people as I could. And you were so obvious a target I figured you would be protected in the night. If I had known I was going to be the only night killing role to begin the game, I would have played my hand differently.

I'll be honest, the vibe of this game was very hostile and aggressive because of a few people's playstyles so I just straight up did not have fun. I was hoping this was going to be a chill, more relaxed game, not a game where a few people just acted so poorly my desire to continue the game was sapped by the end of day 2. Maybe its my job or the fact I was ill most of the game, but my patience for hostility and aggression is exhausted.

I'm inspired so I'll probably actually do this... since it's something wholly original I'm going to need to spend time crafting it and it's systems but I honestly think I could do a mystery Detective game pretty well...

I’m sorry if I was contributing to it or a feeling or targetting. During N2 ans D3 I was feeling aggrieved at being called out on mech and kinda lashed out with my kill kill kill post

Sorry you didn't have fun and felt the game was hostile/aggressive. If I contributed to that feeling in any way I'm sorry. Some players play styles come across that way. I know I can get waaaayyy more aggressive in mafia games than I do irl, since I'm actually a super calm person. But having played with some of the people in this game before and having talked to some of them just casually outside of mafia, they're cool people and nothing is personal. 

Though I understand feeling that way, especially since you had a bit of an uphill battle with your role. SK is always super difficult to pull off, and even moreso when there's no true Mafia faction. 

The aggressive vs chill thing hasbeen an issue here since Portal... and I wish there was an easy way to fix it.

I got A LOT of complaints about roles this game and I'm sorry that the roles weren't all enticing I tried really hard to give everyone a fun role and honestly the wolves had the coolest roles upon activation and I should've just not done the activation. I hope that you at least had some fun and i think that I have a plan for another game entirely thanks Minish and another Werewolf. 

The Werewolf will take a while though because I'm honestly down on myself right now and just generally uninspired but the other thing I'm very excited about
