  • I'm gonna refrain from posting an action this turn. I haven't really been I paying attention to the meta conversation going on until just now, and I assume I've been playing wrong for a bit now. I disappeared during the game awhile ago, and I'm guessing when I came back that I forgot a rule or two. For some reason I thought moves took place before actions rather than the opposite. So what's the correct process for posting apprentice moves, apprentice actions, and tower actions?

  • I thought actions took place in the exact order they were listed (i.e. Tower teleport, Apprentice collect, cast, Tower return, Apprentice collect would happen in that order) with each player moving separately in their respective order.

  • I think at this point the best thing to do is to proceed as we have, ie all attacks will go first, then non-attack abilities and moves together. I don't think it's had a measurable impact on the game since nobody has launched an attack, and it doesn't make sense to change course now.

    We'll revisit this mechanic after the game is over.

    If all attacks happen before all moves, then what does this even mean? Zaen is currently at tower and so the attack would come from the tower.

  • Is Mana Rune AoE on the diagonals also, ie 9 adjacent tiles or just the 5 adjacent tiles? @Wintermoot

  • Since there are so many questions, I will be extending the round for a day in case anyone wants to change their moves.

    @Imaginative Kane: @taulover is right...since attacks are done first, launching a Fireball would come from your tower, which I don't think is what you wanted.

    @taulover: The AoE is for all 9 surrounding tiles.

    @Gerrick: Your move list doesn't include any attacks, so it would proceed in the order that you listed them.

    How far away from my apprentice can I summon the rune? And the rules say that it will affect other friendly units; does this include the unit that summoned it, or just other friendly units?

    I had interpreted it as being only summonable on the same tile as the unit, and said unit being immune as a result, but it seems that that is not your interpretation.

  • @taulover: For any summon ability that doesn't explicitly say otherwise (ie summons on random tile, etc.), your apprentice can summon it on the tile they're on or 1 tile north, south, east, or west. The apprentice will not cause the rune to explode because the description states that it explodes "when any other unit enters the tile". The apprentice could summon it right in under them, then move off and back onto it as many times as you want safely. However, no unit is immune from the AoE effect if another unit triggers the explosion ("This will impact all units...").

    I've added section 2.0.3 to the manual about default summoning locations.

  • Wow I was not expecting enough damage to immediately remove my apprentice. Guess I should have paid more attention to the Mana Rune damage though that definitely seems a bit steep.
