Definitely down, also definitely should be West Marches style echoing Tau

Referring back to the sheets Tau posted, would you be opposed to any of those classes? For example, the cook? I immediately got fun vibes there.

As with other online tabletop alternatives during the Roll20 controversy last year, I think Astral got a bit more popular with that. I have no idea how good it is though.

Well the UI certainly is more aesthetically pleasing. But I'm having trouble navigating it. I'm sure I'll adapt after a few hours of study, but if the difficulty is detrimental to play I'm opposed to it. There's also a "promotion" going on allowing "everyone to have pro features" right now, which makes me have no idea what I'll get in the scrubby free version. We'll see how it goes.

Regarding the cook and other classes... I would prefer if we didn't use those classes since I am unfamiliar with them. But, that's just a preference. So long as you do the research I'll allow it, with the caveat that if the class is unbalanced in either direction (either too OP or dying all the time) you'll be willing to make a change.

Also, to the people who've talked to me about their characters, maybe drop what class/race you've picked in the thread? That way, people worried about doubling up can see what's what. Also I don't mind any doubling up, especially since we're probably West Marching things quite a bit.

I've gone with a Kobold Druid. Don't normally play Druids, so I wouldn't mind there being another one.

I've gone with a Half-Elf Rogue. Vanilla choice, yes, but I've realized it's been a longgggg time since I've played a real game of DnD and not just a crack game.

Oh, I'm a Human Warlock who's chaotic neutral.

Right now I'm leaning toward Monk. Was thinking Sun Soul until I realized that that's from SCAG, so probably Open Hand or Drunken Master. (Though if we're starting level 1 that may be a ways off.)

Is Variant Human allowed? If so I'll strongly consider it, if not I'll probably go with Wood Elf or Half Elf, or possibly Lizardfolk.

Variant Human's perfectly fine. Feats make things interesting!

I could probably do a half elf (or some other elf variant) ranger or something.  So long as I'm not casting in 80% of combat I should avoid falling into the munchkin trap

Let's be honest. I'm playing two games, I'm running one campaign and planning for a second...
I'll probably pop in here and ask to play eventually, as much as I tell myself I don't have time.

I think it'd be fun but I'm in the same boat, I'm a part of 2 campaigns already, it really depends on when it's being run but I might be able to join, at least on some days. Alas, university takes up quite a bit of my time.

Same for me haha, I do have a group at college though we tend to not meet that often because of scheduling conflicts (we're all busy people unfortunately).
