The fifth annual Summersend Festival is almost upon us! This year's festival will officially run from August 16th-25th, and thanks to your votes will be based on the theme Stay Cool: A Summersend Culinary Survival Guide! The Cabinet is already planning on a lot of awesome stuff for the festival, but we would love to include anyone that wants to run a booth, activity, or event for the festival too! Just post what you would like to do. If you need help, someone from the Cabinet will work with you to get things going.

Last year, we had a number of awesome Citizen-ran events and games! I hope this will be a trend that continues this year. I look forward to working with creators in our community that wants to help make it happen.

For those who don't know:
The Summersend Festival is our annual premier festival to celebrate the end of summer and the coming of winter, where our entire community comes together to make it a fun, exciting, and growing (last year our festival forum topped 4k posts!) event. With a huge variety of games, booths, and events going on all at once, and the festival serving as a showcase for new games such as Mage Wars (2017) and Spamwar (2018), Summersend is a great time to experience Wintrean culture at its finest whether you are a member of our community or a guest from elsewhere.

I'd like to run a writing booth with a mix of two things. First, a writing competition. Second, writing advice and review.

For the competition. If people want to, they can submit a piece of writing. The restrictions are that it has to be approximately between 200 and 1,000 words long, and that it must be written during the festival. The way we decide on the winner is a community vote asking which piece of writing entertained the reader the most. I won't contribute to this vote.

For the advice and review, people can post writing that's both affiliated and unaffiliated with the competition. Snippets of bigger works, character tests, poems, links to writing on other sites, and so on, and ask for feedback. I'll be doing a grammar check for the writing intended for the competition anyway, that way we don't focus on the story structure and instead focus on the "Are We Having Fun?" part of things.

I'll be honest, I just want to see more people writing, and this seems like a fun way to get to it.

I will try and make a game similar to Murder On Mystery Street but I might fail considering I have less time then last time. Also, Moot, if possible, could I have something to give out as a prize for winning the game?

I'd like to run an art booth of sorts, but I'm still working out the logistics. It's also moving week for me, so I've got to work out something a bit more laid back so I can take on more of a spectator role in whatever I set up.

@North: I think @Gerrick is running a rewards booth based on tokens like we have in the past, but if you were thinking of something other than tokens of course we can try to accommodate. Just let us know what you have in mind.

I think I might run another game of 40 questions although others would be free to continue that one.

I definitely will try to run a (forum) game of Trivia Murder Party for Summersend.  I will also see if I can do at least one Jackbox night during Summersend.

I don't have much experience with trading cards since the original event...do you know what cards are in demand? Like just legendaries in general or are there specific ones?

I'd also like to note that there are a lot of things people tend to make sets out of. Ex-nations, Guard Cards, LGBT themed, Meme themed. We even had someone who was trying to collect all of the commons!
