  1.1 This shall be called the Right of Repeal Amendment.

  2.1 This shall add Article VIII - Repealing the Fundamental Laws
  2.2 Article VIII section 1 shall read, "Repealing or invalidating the fundamental parts or any singular part of
       the fundamental laws shall be considered an amendment to the fundamental laws and shall be treated 
       as such.”

I wrote this after a bit of discussion on the IRC about Repealing the Fundamental Laws, and I think it would be best to patch a possible problem that would arise in the future. Also thanks to Reon and Gov for helping me write, and Charax for bringing up the possible problem(albeit in directly).

As per Underhusen regulation, this is open for a 48 hour debate period, unless it is expedited by the speaker or Speaker PT(if activated), and after which is may brought up for a vote.

I think this is a worthwhile amendment, but note that the fundamental laws require an entire referendum of citizens to pass the amendment.

Perhaps it is best to introduce several at a time and do one referendum with as many questions as there are proposed amendments?

Since there are multiple amendments going through the pipeline at the moment, perhaps you should call it something more descriptive and drop the numeric title. The Right of Repeal Amendment Act or something, I dunno. It just personally makes me cringe when legislation has such a generic title with no clue what it's about.

As for the actual content, I don't see the harm in it, but I also don't see the point in it either. I can only think of two scenarios where there would be a repeal of the Constitution...either by founder coup or by the region going founderless and being seized by someone else. Neither of those require a repeal process, and as post-Detective Figs Osiris has shown, as long as some natives support an extralegal repeal there's unlikely to be any serious or long-term diplomatic repercussions, whether that change is done by a GCR Delegate or a Founder. Even in the unlikely event that we needed a new Constitutional Convention, if the old Constitution is no longer enforced then it's automatically void.

There's also the fact that in theory we could amend it into any other document we desired in the future by the existing amendment process.

He was going to remove the current constitution create one that would get rid of the Sorting, and he would have the power to give people power. When he got the throne.
