He was a shadow
Lay in the night
His thoughts lain hallow
Afraid of the light
He was a shade
But a sliver of what he once was
Broken, he had now on the floor laid
He thought of what he once was, that is because
He misses the past
He truly does
The happy moments, which seemed to ever last
Now, ever so fleeting, but it once was
Nothing could get him down
Nothing could bend his will
Always a smile, not a frown
He paid others' bill
He took upon that role,
Taxing as it may be
Then it started taxing his heart, mind, and soul
He started to see
What the tax truly was,
The falsehood it had been
Maybe he mistaken. That is because
He cared all so much. It's been a bit since then
Now he doesn't take taxes
He is done with the toll
He doesn't take he hexes
He was done with the role
But his mind nor heart barred
Still open to all
Some can see his scars
Some can see him fall
Down, and down he had fell
Deep into the dark of his head
Down, an down to his hell
Once, he had hoped to be dead
But, along came a light
Dim, but true
To the shade it was so bright
Happiness burned away the blue
His heart, mended
His mind, clear
His heart, commended
His mind, to his dear
He fell for that light,
He knew it was true
That light that shined so bright
Suddenly made him blue.
He was with the light, a time
He had the light, then not
He tried to save the light with a rhyme
But the light left, without a thought
After the light left
The darkness was deeper than before
With his feelings, he wasn't deft
Without the light, he couldn't find the shore
Cast into the darkness
Without a hope to sail
Without any hopefulness
However, he did not bail
He once again found anchors
This time, Not limiting himself to one
He used these to stop the anger
The regret, he tried making it none
But he was still cast away
Far from the shore
Without a wind to sway
He wasn't sure he'd ever be like before.
There came again a light
It came from an anchor
He knew it was risky, but it wasn't a flight
The light this time, it wasn't a flanker
This light was smaller
But somehow brighter, it seemed
But after some time it faltered
And the darkened began to teem
This light, it was corrupted
This light, it wasn't pure
The zen, it was interrupted
His heart, it didn't soar... anymore.
He knew he had to get away
He played it on
But he knew it wasn't okay
He wasn't just a pawn
One way
Or another
He got away
He has to find someone other
Here he is back on the boat
Still away from shore
But now, he had taken note
Another one he couldn't abhor.
Then a short time later
Another light
But the trust wasn't there
He let it pass him by, the bait had no bite.
But, when the darkness seemed complete
The first light came back
Bright as can be
He was taken aback
Seemed that they had reunited
Back together again
They seemed like it never ended
The relationship regened
This is the end of the tale
Just for now
Where will it go, into the darkness storm’s gale?
We will have to wait, but for now, we bow.
