  • >Examine engraving on the shiny sharp thing
You can only read half of it. "TO DUN"
Underneath, in smaller letters that appear to be hand drawn "Fire is t"

    >Lift up stone in mouth and drop on bottom link that looks different from the others
You pick up the stone and drop it again. Sparks fly from where it accidentally contacts the heavy weight. There is enough dust  caught between the lower link and the weight that it catches fire. The bottom link starts to melt, but quickly solidifies, only slightly deformed, as the fire goes o

  • >Attempt pushing, pulling, twisting, and otherwise moving the unlit torch.
You move the torch. When you twist it upside down, something moves on the wall to the left of the fireplace. A small opening leads straight through into the hallway! You now can see the dog.
    >Nudge the chandelier around until it falls.
You nudge the chandelier around until it spins enough to snap the rope. it falls quickly, smashing the table to smithereens. An old book falls out of the ceiling, while something shiny sits in the rubble.
    >Light the broken chairs on fire.
You light the chairs on fire. It spreads rapidly, reducing the chairs to ash in little time. Once they are burnt out, the floor rises, revealing a trapdoor in the ground.

    Firefly turn 6

    >Input 7, 5, 25 in the combination lock.
There is a click after the first number, and four after the next. Nothing happens on the third.
    >Input 25, 7, 5 in the combination lock.
    Nothing happens
    >Input 7, 25, 8 in the combination lock.
There is a click after the first number, and a faint series of two clicks after the second. There are four on the third. Nothing happens.
    >Ask the Ghost: Where's the key to the large stone?
    "On the ceiling."
    >Ask the Ghost: What's the deal with the glasses of water?
"They correspond to where you must turn the lock to open it. And for drinking."
    >Ask the Ghost: How are the glasses related to the combination lock?
"Each one represents how far to turn the lock...ish. There is a grace area"
    >Ask the Ghost: Where can I find the combination to the lock?
"In the glasses. Are we done with this line of questioning yet?" The ghost seems to turn red.
    >Ask the Ghost: What's the significance with the numbers 179 and 13 and letter T?
"Oh good, a new question! However, that is a question for further on. I will hint the the letter corresponds to the ones on the rings in some way and the numbers may have to do with order..."
    >Ask the Ghost: Is there anything else I can learn from the books?
"You can always learn more from books! But no, nothing too important. I wasted much of my time reading them and there was naught to be found."
    >Ask the Ghost: Is there anything else in this room I haven't noticed?
"I can't know what you have noticed, but you do seem to have failed to look up."
    >Send the Ghost to the Dog.
The Ghost disappears out of the room through the same pit the skeleton was in.

    Cat turn 9

    Dog's hallway
<Event> You can now interact with the Firefly
<Event> The ghost appears in front of you through the floor.

  • >Facepalm.
->Using your knee, because you got your hands stuck like a genius. XD

You faceknee. You hit yourself in the face a bit too hard though and now your face hurts.

    >Attempt to free hands.
You wiggle your fingers around and generally move about, but only succeed in contorting yourself further.

    >Look around for any apples, oranges, etc. within reach of feet.
->Specifically, food that is at least partially liquid-y.
->Come to think of it, is the toilet within reach?

You look around and find some sort of mush that is now unidentifiable, which is particularly liquid.
-The toilet is not in reach.
-The leak in the ceiling is. The puddle is growing noticeably larger.

-The hand has stopped moving and seems to be looking at you. But it doesn't have eyes, so that's not really possible.

<Event> The ghost arrives from under the slab you are attempting to free yourself from.

    Human turn 7

    >Listen
You hear a faint sound of something being moved. It grows quieter and then stops.

    >Pickup stone and hold it over the last rung in the chain until it catches fire again in an attempt to break the chain. If need be, repeat if progress seems to be happening.
You hold the stone over the chain. Nothing happens.

    >Notice the Ghost and bark at it
You bark at the ghost. The ghost barks at you.

    >Sniff the Ghost
You sniff the ghost. You cannot smell it. It turns slightly red.

    >Ask the Ghost: What do you know of the sharp item lodged in the floor?
"First time seeing it. Though if it is what I think it is, it's an old sign that used to hang on a door down the hall. Looks as if someone buried it. I could tell you more if you dug it up."

    >Ask the Ghost: What do you know of the torch, and its purpose?
"Pretty sure it's a torch that needs to be lit. Can't remember if anything happens if you knock it down."

    >Ask the Ghost: What do you know of the long stick?
"Oh, that thing? It's a stick. One that could probably knock the torch down. Or be used to start a fire."

    >Ask the Ghost: Is there anything more to the water I drank from? It tasted bad.
"It tasted bad because it's been there forever. But perhaps you should look under the bowl?"

    >IF not freed, Ask the Ghost: How do I get free from this chain?
"If I recall, there are two ways. One is to melt the bottom link, and the second would be to find the key. I hear the key does a great many other things besides unlock that... or you could just chew your own leg off, but that would be most unpleasant."
    >IF freed, Ask the Ghost: Where do you think I should go next?

    >Send the Ghost to the Human.
The ghost compresses and floats through the tunnel in the floor.

  • >Examine the book.
You open the book. It appears to have once been a sketchbook. You flip to a random page, on which lies a drawing of a big red tomato. It is signed S 1224

    >Attempt to pull out the shiny thing from the rubble.
You pull the shiny thing out from under the rubble.

    >Examine the shiny thing.
    It is another ring!
    Ring: L A F S E M

    >Attempt to open the trapdoor.
It easily opens under your might, pouring ash into the gaping hole beneath it. It is very dark and appears deep.

    Firefly turn 7

    >Look up at the ceiling for the key.
You look up to the ceiling to find the key somehow embedded in the ceiling itself. It gleams as if freshly polished. It is close enough to the shelf that you could probably jump to it, but getting it down is another matter.

    Cat turn 10

You may need another character to help you reach the key. The large rock and the key were never intended to be solo operations. But hey, you've surprised me before. You may find something I didn't plan for again.

  • >Pickup stone and swing head back and forth moving stone quickly across last rung in the chain until it catches fire again in an attempt to break the chain. If need be, repeat if progress seems to be happening.
The stone sparks and heats up, and another small section of dust catches on fire. It goes out just as quickly, but the link is now cracked down the center. With a solid tug, you come free.

    >Dig up sharp item lodged in floor.
You dig up the object. It is a rectangle that has traces of blood on it. The engraving is now fully visible.

    >Grab stick, position it next to torch, and push and pull it back and forth in an attempt to light the torch.
You position the stick next to the torch and attempt to push and pull it. Instead, you knock the torch down. It clatters to the ground, and a click is heard somewhere down the hall.

    >Drink from water bowl and grimace as it still tastes bad.
    The water indeed tastes bad.

    >Nudge water bowl across floor and look underneath it.
You nudge the water bowl across the floor until it wedges itself in the dirt. Where it once was there is a second ring pushed firmly into the ground, as if to hide it.
<Event> Something stirs on the ceiling...

    Dog turn 10

    >Stare at ghost.
You stare at the ghost. The ghost stares at you.

    >Greet ghost.
    "Hello!"

    >Ask the ghost: Who are you? Where am I?
"I can't quite remember. I was here... I was the first one. With the others. You must escape and break the curse on this place to free us all!"

    >Ask the ghost: How do I get out of here?
"I never got that far. Or do you just mean out of the room? You are already close."

    >Ask the ghost: Is that hand going to hurt me?
The ghost wanders over and tries to pick up the hand, and fails. "This little thing couldn't if it wanted to."

    >Attempt to clean hands using...
    ->Mushy thing.
->Puddle (kick water at hands, etc?)
    ->Asking the ghost for help

Starting with the mushy thing which you slide over to your hands using your feet, you attempt to pry your hands free. Though you can feel the goop on the outside becoming slick, your hands remain in place.
You move on to the liquid, which hisses as it comes in contact with the black goop. It lets off a green gas, but slowly eats away at the black goo. You are soon freed, but the liquid is burning into your skin rapidly.
{WARNING!} HUMAN is now taking damage. At rate of damage, HUMAN will be crippled in 10 turns, and face death in 13!
You ask the ghost for help. It laughs at you and attempts to pet the hand again.

    >Ask the ghost: Am I missing anything in this room?
"You mean other than you never checked what was dripping from the ceiling? Hmmm... You have both rings, you found the clue, but there might yet be something to help you along later. There is still a place you haven't gotten to, under the other circle."

    >Ask the ghost: So uh... how'd you get here?
"How I got here is the same way you did. Magic. It is really the only explanation. I've just been stuck here longer. On the plus side, if you die here, it won't be quite so lonely! My friends and I have been getting on eachother's nerves, so the Skeleton ran away, the rat is squeaking from somewhere but we can't find him, and the slug went out in search of water."

    >Ask the ghost: If I try to lift up this slab again, do you think I'll get stuck again?
"If you go at it the same way, of course. But you do have things around you to prevent getting stuck."

    >Send ghost back to Dog
The ghost floats through the wall.

    Human turn 8

I'm sorry, Elbbsas. I went back and checked, and you never did check just what was coming from the ceiling. So um, congrats on taking the first damage of the game?

  • >Input 15, 30, 7 in the combination lock.
You input the numbers. Nothing happens. You input the numbers backwards. A series of clicks sounds and a grinding comes from the floor. Slowly, the flames in the fireplace shut off. You now have access to the Firefly's room!

    Cat turn 11

    >Explore the area under the trapdoor.
You zoom down the hole and find yourself in a sewer like system. There are several drawings of tomatoes done in a red ink you don't want to think about where comes from. At the end of the sewer, there are a series of bricks that look hastily layed. Next to them is a large bookshelf that looks like it once stood in front of the bricks. Several books are ruined and on the ground, but many are in perfect condition. One lies open on top of the shelf, titled the history of tomatoes. One lies face down on the second shelf, covered in what looks like tomato sauce. The last one to stick out is a black book with an orange glow on the bottom shelf, tucked just above the sewer muck.

Sorry Gerrick, I forced the Cat's move a little. You were just so close... feel free to yell at me for that as you like.

  • GODDAMN IT, RUGUO. I DIDN'T GIVE THAT COMMAND. STOP TAKING CONTROL OF MY CHARACTERS. I WANTED TO HAVE TO FIGURE IT OUT MYSELF.

    NEVER MIND, I QUIT.

But really, thanks. : ) If that didn't work, kinda wanted to see if I could get away with "Input every possible combination into the lock."
