Title
1. This act is to be cited as the Symbols Act.

Flag
2. The Flag of the Government of Wintreath is as follows: A field parted per fess Arzure and Argent with an Or Nordic Cross and a Sable Dormant Tree placed center of the bottom section of the Nordic Cross.
3. The Flag of Wintreath must be flown above territories of Wintreath, excepting territories before this act that are not flying the flag or have been excepted by law, or must fly a flag that contains the Wintreath flag in a Canton of the Flag in a manner that does not convey that Wintreath is inferior to the territory or that otherwise demeans Wintreath.
4. No person or non-territory may flag the Wintreath flag, or have it within a Canton without permission from the Monarch or his/her designee.
5. Any rendering of the flag that complies with the description of Section 2 of this act is to be considered a Wintreath Flag.

Symbols
6. The colours of Wintreath are as follows: Blue, White, Gold, and Black.
7. The regional bird is a _____.
8. The regional animal is a Snow Leopard.
9. The regional bot is Zaphyr.

So I decided to introduce this (albeit somewhat incomplete) bill into the Underhusen for debate, figured it wouldn't be too contentious to discuss something like this and we might want to start with something a bit 'smaller' before we jump into the rest of the session.

This act mainly sets forth some Symbols and also officials defines a flag and a code, I do plan for this act to cover other things as well (other symbols and seals of the region), but we don't have many of those right now.

For the regional bird, it could be a Snow Hawk: a hawk literally made up of snow.  I can write up the lore for it when I get home from work.

Scratch that, Winter Eagle.  I have the perfect lore for it.

Does this mean I'll have to change the flag of a puppet I used to use for military purposes?

Also, I wouldn't be opposed to using some of Pengu's or Red Mones' creatures here. Arena has certainly caused me to associate many of them with Wintreath.

The Winter Eagle

The reason I suggested a bird like that is because eagles are normally considered majestic, so I thought a majestic bird with some unique features that were common around Wintreath would be good for our regional bird.  Plus, it's one that can easily be tamed and become practically a lifelong companion to the person who tamed it.

That, and it gave me a chance to use one of the corniest openings for a description.

Also, to nitpick, snow leopards are native to Asia, not Scandinavia.

The Arctic Fox may be a good candidate. It's present in Iceland and the mountains of Norway and Sweden.

Also Reindeer are present in mainland Scandinavia, also in the mountains

Perhaps that's something we could do: have nominations for the regional animal then vote on it.

You can’t have regional symbols and forget the Potatoe!

I feel like there’s so many symbols we could add. Regional flower, regional motto, regional fish, regional mammal, regional game (werewolf), etc. If we’re going to officially list these regional symbols to represent our culture, then perhaps we could have nominations for what regional symbols we should have and then vote on them. (So an extension on Gerrick’s idea)

The Snow Lepoard is actually Zaphyr's pet (as explained in the OP of the Zaphyr Pet Voting thread. Although it does state that it is a Snow Leopard Fox, so perhaps I could update it to reflect that.)

I definitely would prefer the fictional snow leopard fox, or if not, then snow fox (which is same as Arctic fox) still fits the theme better.

I think the arctic/snow fox would be best, since it's a real animal that's prevalent in Scandinavia.

I personally would prefer the Snow Leopard Fox, since it does have more meaning for our region, with it being Zaphyr's pet and all.

EDIT: also perhaps instead of the Winter Eagle, we have our animal be the Winter Turkey?

Idk how important Zaphyr is to people in Wintreath. That might be an old thing.

Also Turkey? What? Why? Turkeys aren't even native to Scandinavia.
