Current Mandate

The Office of Information shall be responsible for informing the public about the various events and occurrences in the Underhusen. They shall post newly introduced proposals to the Citizens' Platform and notify Citizens of new proposals through various means of communication. They shall also publish reports, including a summary dispatch of the term at its conclusion, and aid the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their embassy dispatches if necessary. The Officer of Information may choose to establish and/or appoint subordinate officers at their discretion.

Just a quick announcement that as of yesterday, I appointed @Syraj as my Speaker Pro Tempore and @Katie as the Officer of Information.

As to why I made these appointments, with Katie it's simple. She has shown to be highly interested and wanting to do things here in the Underhusen, and during the elections I had contacted her, asking if she would like to be Officer of Information. After explaining what I would be expecting from the position, she enthusiastically accepted. Katie has shown a disire to work with both the citizenry and with the Underhusen in this role. Additionally, she has experience with a similar position elsewhere in NationStates, as such I felt she was suited for the role.

For Syraj it's a few different reasons. First off, Syraj has been rather involved with our community since joining, and has been relatively active. Secondly, Syraj has over the past few days, thrown himself into debates and been working hard to understand and partake in the Underhusen. Given that there is a tradition within the Underhusen, albeit one that hasn't been observed for some time, that the more senior Skrifa, that becomes Speaker selects a new, but promising Skrifa and Wintrean to the position of Speaker Pro Tempore to help guide and teach them. This occurred when I became Speaker Pro Tempore during the first Underhusen, under Speaker Denth Kasten (Dawsinian). As such, I felt it was proper for me to appoint Syraj to this position.

I do apologize for the delay in the announcement, however I had some RL things to deal with first.

I'm sorry, but did you promise a fellow candidate a role in the UH during the elections and before the election for the Speaker?

She had shown interest in performing such a role, and I discussed with them about it. Such discussions aren't new, or out of the ordinary. Since I had, during elections, announced I would be running for Speaker and Mathyland had lost citizenship, I felt it wasn't out of line to discuss with Katie about the Underhusen and about the Officer of Information position, especially since she has shown a desire to perform such actions anyway, and that she has experience in it.

EDIT: I also wish to state that my granting Katie this position is entirely because I felt that Katie was, and is, the best option. If a better option was presented, I would have gone with them instead.

As of August 23rd, 2018 at 2:29 AM EST I am activating my Speaker Pro Tempore @Syraj due to my leave of absence as indicated here

The Speaker PT is inactive as I have returned from my LoA, thanks to Syraj for acting in his capacity during that time.

Due to @Evanlicious having been inactive on the forums since August 14, 2018, and as I am noting that his last time he participated in the Underhusen was during the Speaker Elections, meaning that he has been absent from the Underhusen for 17 consecutive days, I am hereby declaring him INACTIVE,

It should be note that this is doing nothing more than labeling him inactive, and the only thing that would lead to this having any effect is if a majority of the UH goes inactive or if all but one Skrifa are declared inactive.

At this time, 1 Skrifa is Inactive, and the remaining four are not, this means that 20% of Skrifa are inactive.

As a note Due to Evan's resignation, he is no longer a Skrifa and as such has been removed from the Inactivity list.
