Allright guys, here go the first "official" material regarding the "Kendo" *snickers* "Tournament" (pffftt).
I will wait a week for formal registration of the following "characters", some positions will be available after the start. One person can occupy only one position at a time and it may be difficult to change the one you have depending on what that position is.
The simple ones are:
Spectator.
Is present in every scene of event, can only comment, but is not limited to the type or extent of opinion one can express. Is *very* at harms way but has a privilege to be ressurected at any time.
Journalist.
Has the privilege to review the scene of action and "spot" changes that suddenly occur on their whim, can interrogate any other person participating, can make a "headline" report with some interesting info, a scoop or a scandal. Should be as nasty and incursive as they can to bring pressure to the more corrupt ones.
In addition never gets injured or harmed... somehow... but that's how it is.
Judge.
Also physically invulnerable but extremely important person. Controls, devises and orchestrates how fights go, what happens to the scene, how many people die and in what sick, horrible and humorous ways... ;D Can cheat, accept bribes, ignore my requests and commands. One or two at most are necessary. Must complete their part once every week and play out the fights for all designated rounds and if they can't I will for them.
(Any other idea if I will approve of it.)
The King.
The King can interfere into our little illegal- *achem* Fine! Fine Event! Interfere at any time in any way he wishes. (Allready occupied)
The Host.
Me, I run the event, I can do stuff, change stuff, mix stuff, give a go to cheating or resort to that, but I'm not invulnerable...
Team Owner.
Is the "meat" of the show, provides the combatants and many other important components to the show. Should act in appropriate way, can cheat but can't influence the stage directly. It's their glory or shame in winning or losing.
*-------------------*
Regarding cheating. It is allowed and encouraged but must be "declared" as a happened fact/instance in a post. It may be a not common knowledge to the rest of characters but at least the players should be notified, but don't act if they know about it if they as characters don't know.
*-------------------*
Registering the teams themselves.
Every team consists of their manager/owner who desires glory (and who knows what else). Any introduction will do or you can skip it alltogether. Here and everywhere else goes the rule that you can always be very brief and uninformative, or go to whatever lengths you want in describing anything.
A specific scene for some phase of the tournament (quarterfinal, semifinal, final, etc). Someone will pick which scenes will be used, how and when.
Prizes. Can be absolutely anything, ridiculous, or nothing at all.
Each team can present two main players and an auxilary replacements for each one. Depending on amount of teams one or both "slots" will be chosen. Describe in order of importance.
Any player is described as follows: name, physical prowess, moral strength and a chosen/random attribute with it's brief description (what it is, why this person/thing has it and why it is significant). The three attributes sum is 15, minimum for any is 1, distribute as you please. Also you can add as much or little info about the player as you wish in any kind of category. Strength is meant to represent overall physical potential, moral strength means how many deaths/abuse/horror the player can take before becoming a deformed drooling shadow of himself/itself, will decrease when appropriate, can reach negative numbers. The third one is for the fun factor and to help flesh out the essence of the player, can also and will be used in fights to determine what interesting actions the Judges will think for them to do.
Primary and secondary players should also have a clause when they become unusable and must be replaced by their reservists. Death count, some event, anything else, but it's mandatory to have something.
*-------------------*
How fights work.
A Judge pits his designated players and compares their stats. The honest way is to roll a d6 for each stat, add that number to corresponding stat then compare who has more superiority overall. But! One can just ignore that all and devise their own story however they want. Just try and provide some pretense for the view of "fairness".
(The media is watching you!) (A hint: both players can die during, after and before fights along with countless innocent people!
)
For all won fights a surviving and eligible player should receive a +1 to all his stats (bonuses can stack) but that again can be ignored by the Judges! XD Also, appropriate events can add some clauses that affect anything (stats, etc) on the whole stage, entire game continuity or just a single fight, or even during a small episode of a fight. Go nuts, but this is primarily a focus of Journalists.
So far so many rules. I will post my own team below, if you want to ask or proposes something or just register, this is the thread for the moment.
