  • I wonder if, like me, many of the new people were drawn to this region after seeing the LGBT-friendly tag. If not, I like the idea of thinking that this is a completely representative sample of people, and thus there are more bisexuals than it seems, and that we've all just been in hiding because we're tired of being asked about threesomes, being accused of being more likely to cheat in a relationship, and being described as "sluts".

I've wondered before if it would be easier if everyone were bisexual. No more worries about incompatible sexuality again... so awkward when you don't know who someone is into but you want to flirt.
I suppose everyone being asexual would fix that too, but I'm less certain of the long-term effects of that.

  • I actually think most people have the capacity to be bisexual to some extent under the right circumstances...they meet and fall for the right person, they have the right encounter or experience, or the right epiphany, and I think it'll be easier to do so as society becomes more accepting of same-sex relationships and the stigma disappears.

It may already even be happening...I remember reading the results of a survey in Britain that indicated a 45% increase in the number of people under 24 that identified as LGB, with almost all the gains being made in the B category. Another thing I read indicated that even many people who identified as straight admitted to having had a same-sex encounter or attraction.

I'm reminded also of how same-sex sex (at least between men) was accepted in ancient Rome and Greece, before the rise of Christianity. Actually in Rome, it wasn't the gender of the person you were fooling around with that could cause a stigma, it was their social class. It may well be that we're returning to the natural behaviour of humanity that's been pushed underground and oppressed by religion.

  • Hmmmmm.....I'll be honest. I don't think everyone is "no to an extent". I certainly know I'm at the 100% homo end of the spectrum. And I've had people use that argument against me before. "If you found the right girl" Or "No one is 100% either way." Always really grated on me, personally.

  • Nonetheless, there's growing evidence that people are becoming more comfortable with having experiences with both genders, and even labeling themselves as bisexual. I myself considered myself to be gay for many years, until I met the right girl that made me realize that wasn't the case, and we both know straight guys who turn out to be somewhat more...flexible.

I'm not saying it's impossible for someone to be 100% straight or gay. I'm just saying that I think there will be far fewer people who claim to be (especially claim to be 100% straight) as society changes and becomes more accepting of same-sex relationships, and people are better able to explore themselves and their relationships without the same social/family/cultural pressure to be a certain thing and strictly adhere to it in their actions.

  • While I do believe there are some out there that are pure 100% one way or another...I believe they're actually a small variety.  While I feel that more would hit more in the 80s-90s (as mentioned, I consider myself in the mid 90s range).  Mainly because you haven't met every single woman in your lifetime, yet.  You may very well still run into one that ticks the boxes that you thought a woman would never be able to tick...and vice versa for lesbians who may meet that one man.

Hell, you may never meet them in your lifetime, but that doesn't mean that the one potential woman/man to make you question your sexuality doesn't exist.  Just like similarly the same could be said for the one potential man/woman that could make a straight guy/girl question their own sexuality.

  • I can respect that.  Personally, I don't foresee myself falling in love with a woman any time soon since, like you, I have no sexual attraction to them at this very moment.  But life can also be funny sometimes, too.

  • Suddenly, I have a new reason to not see Alien.

    ~

I'm female, and I don't know what sexuality I am. I either haven't had a crush or feelings of that ilk yet, or I have, but haven't recognised those feelings as being those feelings. I've no idea if I'm straight, lesbian, bi, specific-person-sexual, or any other label... or if I'm just plain-old emotionally dense. Then again I'm only a young adult so I'm "still cooking" in regards to my identity, so to speak. I'll wait for a decade or so and see if any opinions develop.

You dont really need to worry about labels and stuff. I mean I'm still trying to figure things out myself but I know that any specific label may not apply to me. Just love whoever you want to love and figure things out from there.

  • Labels are becoming less relevant anyways, what with the constantly shifting definitions for everything dealing with sexuality and gender.

I'm straight, and I think that vaginas look really weird. I think most people aren't really into (ba-dum-tsh) the vagina, but the other parts of a woman.

Eh, that's the thing. I can appreciate a beautiful woman. But there's just nothing goin on downstairs for em.

  • To me, even breasts aren't appealing.  I don't care to look at them, and even when covered they just look weird to me.  I've even had women that have offered to let me motorboat them, but I don't really see the point.  It seems silly, and it would just feel both awkward and weird for me.

I've motorboated a few girls cuz they asked me to. And you are correct. It was very silly.
