Both are about December, or at least have December in the title.

Oh, that's a nice song. Been listening to some 70's classics after watching Guardians Vol. 2, and that is another fine addition to my collection.

One is by The Four Seasons, one is part of The Four Seasons. They're both about a similar time of year.

Ahhhh. Classical songs.

Both involve environmental topics that have inspired poets, writers, and artists of every kind. Secondly, both works have descriptive titles. Both are attributed to folks from the 18th Century.

They are also part of a larger whole that is (relatively) less well known (The Four Seasons < The Contest Between Harmony and Invention | TTLS's First Stanza > Full song). Plus, "Twelve" is a significant number in each!

Both are variations on a folk song. Both are also commonly played by secondary school music students.

Both have Korean roots, and are played by a wind instrument, and are not preformed by the original artist (at least, that's what I'm assuming in the above case). I'd be more specific than "wind instrument," but I couldn't work out which was used in your case. Also, warm colouration is fun.

Both are by Koreans.

Both are national anthems of Communist nations formed by postwar partitions between the Soviets and Western Allies.

Both are anthems, and it was one of the Western Allies. That flag sure seems like a big deal.
