I'm assuming the Mystic's replacement ability is the exception to this? So the cool down for the Mystic's first ability is applied to the replacement? (Ability in slot 1 is used, three round cool down, ability in slot 1 can be reused). Otherwise, things could get bad.

And, yeah, tau's right in that I'll be selecting teams before people choose their classes, though I suppose nothing is stopping you from reserving your class now. I'd just figured you'd all want to coordinate with your teammates for your class selections to cover your bases (healer, damage dealer, support, etc.).

I have a question about the Alchemist class. Is the "Make Strength/Defense/Agility/Luck Potion" decided at random?

Nope, you get to choose which you make each time you use the ability. Just wanted those four potions to have the same cooldown and a separate cooldown from health.

I've made some updates/changes to the rules and classes, so make sure to read them. They're written in red. Let me know if you have any questions or need clarifications on anything.

Both teams walked to the middle of the Arena and stood in two parallel lines about 100 feet from each other.

Everyone please send me your actions (I will send you all PMs where you will each send your action for each round) by 12pm EST on Saturday, December 3. If I get all of your actions before then, though, I may end the round early to speed up the game.

I'm going to create a poll, which will decide in what format I will post the round results. The first will be in narrative fashion, where I will write out how players fight, think, etc., like in Game 1 of the Arena. The second will be more technical, where I just post players' actions and the math I used to get the results. The second is definitely easier for me, but people may also enjoy the first. Doesn't make a difference to me, but just wondering what you all would prefer.

Round 1

Quick as lightning, Rogue Hydra downed a strength potion then attacked Death Knight Rass, hoping to take out one of the Blue Team's damage dealers. He lunged at his target, slashing with increased vigor, and dealt 17 damage.

Alchemist Elbbsas reached down to his belt, pulled out the agility potion, then tossed it to Hydra, thinking the Rogue would have more use for it. He followed Hydra's lead and attacked Rass, dealing 7 damage.

Cleric Colberius, being the first to move on the Blue Team, saw the damage his teammate Rass was taking, so he performed a blessing on him. He slowly and methodically waved his hands in a strange pattern while chanting. A soft sparkling light glowed then disappeared around Rass, who felt stronger, thanks to the Cleric.

Ranger Crushita drank his strength potion and in one sweeping motion pulled out his bow and released an arrow at Rass, dealing 12 damage.

Death Knight Rass, ready to strike back at his enemies, targeted Elbbsas, the Yellow Team's main support player. He muttered a short incantation to himself then cut his hand with his sword, smearing his blood along the length of the blade, though it dealt 3 damage to himself. With his new cursed blade and the strength from his blessing, he then attacked Elbbsas, dealing 12 damage.

Paladin Tau, watching as Rass attacked his teammate with evil magic, raised his left hand to the sky and called on his god to smite the Death Knight. The raised hand began to glow with a crackling red light, which Tau then spread over his sword. He attacked Rass with his holy sword, dealing 20 damage.

Commander Sapphiron raised his sword and screamed with a deafening roar. Crushita, Tau, and Hydra recoiled in fear at this unexpected yet valiant act.

Finally, Ranger Mathyland attacked Elbbsas, dealing 15 damage.

Round 2

Death Knight Rass, reeling from the last round's barrage of attacks, got into a defensive stance and raised his shield to reduce damage from more imminent attacks.

Ranger Mathyland grabbed his strength potion from his belt and gulped it down. He looked back up at Elbbsas and attacked her with his sword, dealing 11 damage.

Paladin Tau, seeing his teammate in need of support, cast a holy ward on Elbbsas. He raised both hands, looked to the sky, and closed his eyes. He made no sounds but moved his lips, and soon his hands were enveloped in a flickering blue light. He then aimed his hands at Elbbsas, causing the blue light to move from his hands to his teammate and surround the Alchemist in a protective cover.

Rogue Hydra had taken an agility potion, allowing him to move quicker. He then targeted and attacked the injured Rass. The Death Knight's block and defensive stance, coupled with the fact that Hydra was still routing because of Commander Sapphiron, reduced the damage to just 3.

Cleric Colberius ran to Rass's aid. He clasped both hands together and lowered his head so that his lips touched his hands. Slowly, the area between his hands began to glow in a warm yellowish light, which Colberius then held over Rass, healing him for 12 HP.

Commander Sapphiron, noticing the unmoving Crushita, attacked him, dealing 11 damage.

Alchemist Elbbsas consumed a health potion, healing 10 HP, then got into a defensive stance and raised her shield in a block to prevent any more incoming attacks.

Ranger Crushita, who had not moved this round, got a whip on the back from a nearby Arena guard, dealing him 4 damage.


Cleric's Heal Other now heals for 1d20 HP (was 1d10) and Death Knight's Sacrificial Healing now heals for 1d25 HP (was 1d15), but both may only be performed once every four turns (was 3). Health Potions now heal for 10 HP (was 5). These changes are meant to set these abilities as equal to the Alchemist's Make Health Potion ability. It is also to offset the decreased ratio value of healing to total health because of the starting HP increase, so this will cause a net increase for healing. For example, Heal Other would heal for an average of 20 HP over 12 turns before, but would heal for an average of 30 HP now (4 x average 5 HP = 20 vs. 3 x average 10 HP = 30).

Round 3

Death Knight Rass put down his shield, switched to an offensive stance, and resumed his attack on Elbbsas. The Alchemist's block and defensive stance, coupled with her protective ward thanks to Paladin Tau, however, decreased the damage to just 3.

Paladin Tau also switched to an offensive stance then attacked the aggressive but injured Rass, dealing 8 damage.

While other combatants were busy fighting, Rogue Hydra got in a cautious defensive stance, snuck around to where he'd be out of view of his enemies, then inconspicuously pulled out a bear trap from under his cloak and quickly set it up and covered it with sand.

Ranger Crushita again pulled out his bow, aimed it at Rass, and let fly a precise shot, dealing 6 damage.

Alchemist Elbbsas, having already successfully blocked an attack, continued to hide behind her shield.

Ranger Mathyland, spotting a hole in Elbbsas's blocking stance, pulled out his bow and performed a precise shot, which, though dampened by the Alchemist's holy ward, dealt 11 damage.

Two more Arena guards jogged up from the sidelines and whipped Commander Sapphiron and Cleric Colberius for inactivity, dealing 2 and 4 damage, respectively.
