Round 8

Wintermoot, intending on doing as much damage as he could before dying, quickly cast an acid spray at Rass, dealing 9 damage after being reduced by Rass' defensive stance and the last of his prayer buff.

Sapphiron continued to block. People began to whisper, wondering if it were possible if he had somehow fallen asleep while still holding up his shield.

Rass, wanting to finally strike down Wintermoot, raised his sword to the sky, causing it to burn red from the gods who also wanted to smite the Sorcerer. Rass charged at him and swung his holy sword, slashing the Sorcerer's throat and chest open, causing blood to gush out and Wintermoot to fall to his knees. He feebly clutched at the fatal wound, trying to stop his death from happening, but it was to no avail. He finally slumped over onto the ground and stopped moving.

Crushita, who had also planned on attacking Wintermoot, watched as he died and was somewhat surprised that he had outlived Wintermoot. He of course silently thanked the Holy Potatoe.

Hydra had again dazed off and so did not perform an action. A guard was ordered by one of the Arena's top officials to shoot a crossbow bolt at Hydra to incentivize him to fight. The guard did as he was ordered, dealing 7 damage.

At the end of the round, the Host got up and announced to the audience, "Our first combatant has fallen! Well done, Paladin Rass! Let us now take the time to remember the Sorcerer Wintermoot and the lost credits of those who wagered on his victory." After a short pause, "Who will be next? Will someone avenge Wintermoot? Will there be new truces to prevent Crushita's death or cause any injury to Sapphiron? Is Hydra having a stroke? Let's go back to the fight to see what happens next!"

Fare-thee-well, Wintermoot. The mightiest sorcerer in the arena (namely because there was only one in the ring), continuing to strike down foes to the bitter cold end. The arena will miss you in the remaining fight. Maybe. The other combatants probably won't.

And in even better news, I officially have the least number of credits in Wintreath! Yay. Do I get any tax subsidies? =D

Sleeping behind a shield is great. Please continue fighting amongst yourself. ^_^

Round 9

Wizard Hydra cast a reflect spell, creating a clear-bluish bubble around his body.

Rass raised his shield, but the Sorcerer's acid from last round continued to eat at him, dealing 2 damage.

Crushita, still in a near-death frenzy, aimed at Sapphiron, who hid behind his shield, and performed a precise shot. The arrow made its way through the tiniest hole in the Cleric's stance and pierced him an inch from his heart, dealing an almost perfect 19 damage.

Sapphiron, reeling from this incredible injury, pulled a trick from his sleeve. He reached his hands somehow into the ground and muttered some words quietly to himself. All of a sudden, a beam of light cracked its way along the ground towards the body of Wintermoot and made its way inside him. The body violently shook on the ground and then ceased when it made a large gasp for air. Wintermoot slowly stood up, looking terrifying with the large gash still across his chest and an evil stare.

Evidently, choosing not to block has consequences.

Round 10

Sapphiron summoned the angelic bear creature again to take any damage targeted at him.

Rass again prayed and was granted protection and aid in the fight from his gods.

Hydra now raised his shield to block incoming attacks.

Crushita made another effort to again kill Wintermoot. He swung his sword at the Sorcerer, but being in a defensive stance shortened his reach, dealing only 3 damage.

Wintermoot, still in an offensive stance, attacked Crushita, but the Ranger's defensive stance softened the blow, dealing 5 damage and leaving him with only 1 HP left.

I deserve an award for how much damage I've done

There's always the cart of rotten fruit. And who knows, there might be a gift shop somewhere, with a "Well Done" sticker for sale! =D

Round 11

Wintermoot switched to a defensive stance and attacked Crushita, but switching to this more cautious position caused him to miss his target.

Hydra also attacked Crushita but missed because of his defensive stance as well.

Sapphiron raised his shield to block incoming attacks.

Rass switched to an offensive stance and attacked Sapphiron. The Paladin, strengthened by his prayer, knocked aside the Cleric's shield and stabbed him through his gut. Sapphiron, already in a weakened state, quickly fell over dead.

Crushita, happy to see Wintermoot's ally now dead, attacked the Sorcerer. Both of their defensive stances lessened the attack's effect, dealing 3 damage.

The Host announced again, "Rass has killed another combatant -- but he won't be able to resurrect himself. It seems his blocking couldn't protect him forever. Goodbye, Cleric Sapphiron."

Oh wow, I guess Crushita's potato gods really love me after I killed Wintermoot. Afterall, how else would I be so lucky to be able to do enough damage to kill Sapphiron?

Round 12

Wizard Hydra cast a dispel at Crushita, preventing him from using any abilities.

Rass switched to a defensive stance and called on his gods to Smite Wintermoot, but since he had done no damage to another combatant, the gods denied the Paladin's request.

Crushita pulled out his bow again and aimed it at Hydra to perform a Precise Shot, but he found he was unable to loose the arrow. He looked at Hydra, who made a sigh of relief, then finally realized what that spell the Wizard cast on him did.

Wintermoot again attacked Crushita, but as both were in defensive stances, he again missed.
