Alright, so with the current inactivity, perhaps we should fall back to the traditional five seats?

On the other hand, more people might be willing to run if seven seats are available.

Thoughts?

Thank you, Laurentus. I will note that much of the inactivity is my fault, and for that I'm ashamed. I had thought that by adding more seats, there would be far more discussion and debate, thereby giving more ground to restarting the convention or passing more reform. Instead we accomplished two things: a revocation and a small integration bill.

My thoughts on the exact number of seats are neutral at this time. I'll draft up an official bill if we can come to consensus on an amount.

Honestly, this was pretty much the level of activity I've come to expect when not discussing the ConCon.

No matter how many seats you settle on, you just can't get around the problem that there isn't always much to do in an online game's legislature.

What are you saying with that? Do you mean that this kind of inactivity is normal and that it isn't my fault? Does that mean I haven't been doing a poor job because the legislature's gone inactive?
(I'm only mentioning this here because it was somewhat related to the comment you had made when nominating me, stating that I was ready for a break or something along those lines. I'm not sure whether you were insinuating that I was weary and needed a rest or that you were indirectly stating that I shouldn't be reelected. If that's the case, I won't stand, because I'll only run if I have the backing of the rest of the Underhusen.)

I don't think that's what Lau is implying at all, Barnes - I think he's more referencing the fatigue that he and other past UH members have cited as reasons for not standing for 2 or 3 terms in a row. No one thinks you've done a bad job

I'll support 5 seats, though I'd like it to remain at 7 if there's the activity to warrant it. I'm not sure if I'll stand again - the EU referendum draws ever nearer and as it does so does my workload increase - but I will do so if I can.

I think 5 is enough.  This term's inactivity isn't anyone's fault in particular.  After the revocation, things went silent in the UH...and actually I expected it since that was the big thing we were wanting to tackle this term.  If anything that just shows the flaw of the UH...that when we finish tackling the main thing we wanted, we go into a lull unless we had other things already in motion.

And with the current elections yielding little candidates, asking for more than 5 may end up being problematic if the turnout remains low.

As such, I say we just wait for the default seats to kick in. There is no point in writing an act if we're going for the default number.

I suppose there really isn't a point, but it would be better to make it official just to make it seem as if we're purposely being inactive.
