Bear in mind that the more holdings you have, and the greater the distance between them, the more you'll be burning influence to maintain them. For example, if you had your Seat and several cities in the immediate environs, you could influence several hundred miles around your Seat, but if you spread your holdings out you're likely to only be able to control 30-50 miles around each location, if that.

@Colberius X What are your thoughts on my modified dates and new additions? I thought that being gone for decades would be unrealistic, as I would probably have to return after you succeed the Patriarchy, so I think my only choice is to marry and have children before my journey.

Couldn't you have had children on your journeys and then brought them back with you?

Wintreath is vast, and sending younger generations on trips to gain life experience from all walks of Wintrean culture isn't all that common. They usually only last 5 years, but it's not rare for people to extend their trips whilst in the midst of them, if that helps.

Keep in mind, our House is relatively new to Wintreath, and our heritage is elsewhere.  I think that would increase our tendency to go on long journeys, especially when combined with the fact that our House has a fleet of ships at its disposal.

Entirely true - I imagine visits to your homeland would be relatively frequent as well? Having a fleet of ships does enable you out-of-nation travel options.

I like them! We just need to establish when our children were born.

At this point, I think things in Hyperion would have stabilized enough for us to travel there relatively often.
