Considering that any Gamemaster could have zero experience with RP, I'm not sure that is a good idea. It is also good to have a supreme arbiter to break stalemates.

Ah, I misread Gamemaster as Guildmaster. Yeah I don't know if there should be an RP council of DMs, but DMs will already be a higher rank, so they would more likely be chosen to become a GM. The council would just continue to grow as more RPs were introduced anyway.

I was thinking that we would just have 3 or 4 GMs as a council where one of them was the head GM. The GMs could be voted on by the RP guild members, and then the head GM would be voted by the elected GMs (like how the UH/Speaker elections work). Or they could be appointed by Laurentus as he has already stated who he votes for -- then again, I may be biased as he chose me.

I'm not sure how long these GMs would stay in office -- probably either semi-permanent (until a GM becomes inactive or steps down) or have regular elections (perhaps every 6 months?). The former would allow stability, but the latter would allow further advancement. But we already have ranks and advancement that way, so it might not be necessary.

A third option could be that a GM holds office for a certain amount of time (again, maybe 6 months?), then that GM chooses who he wants to take his spot. And if we want (if there are multiple GMs), this GM-step-down-appointment-thing could be staggered so that it happens to one GM every couple months, so that all of them don't step down at once and nobody knows what they're doing. Then, each time, the GMs could choose to vote for a new head GM or keep the current one. This appointment option would prevent the political nature of open elections but would allow more people advancement over the semi-permanent model. We would perhaps have to add a clause that when one steps down, he can't be chosen again the next one or two times a GM is appointed to prevent the same people being chosen.

As I said in my PM Laurentus, I never declined.  I just have been busy with RL stuff.  I still want to RP and have an interest in this.

I believe that he believes that one should participate in the Guild before attempting to run it. Since you have not participated in anything as of yet, you are not a viable candidate for the role.

And yeah, I could stay on in such a committee if that is people's preference.

Not only that @Govindia but there are people here who are not only participants in the Guild but have been in administrative roles which @Laurentus has seen first hand.

I was the RPer in Aura Hyperia who explained everything about the regional RP there to him, I am the Lord of Culture in New Hyperion (where he is currently serving as Chancellor), I am an active member of this RP Guild, and as a result, I was one of the first people Laurentus turned to to replace him. He has had experience with me, knows what I have done and what I can do, and trusts me to help keep the Guild going strong.

Ok well I hope I can prove myself to be a good asset then.

Alright, so this past week hasn't been spent idly wondering what would happen with the guild. I've been in contact with Weissreich, and he has graciously accepted the title of Guildmaster.

Not only that, but I have decided who would serve on a council as well.

Weissreich will henceforth directly oversee the Council and the Guild as a whole, so if @Wintermoot would make him the new moderator of the guild, replacing me, that would be grand.

Also, he probably needs mod powers over the general RP area too, along with the current ministry of Culture cabinet members.

So. There we have it. New leadership has finally come to the guild.

I will make a new thread for things that need doing in the next few minutes.

I should also note that I chose each of you for your own talents, but much like the cabinet of the region, I still expect you to pool your knowledge and help each other not only to maintain the Guild and RP in general, but help it thrive in ways it has not been able to.
