Everything works via space magic. Hyperspace is magic, Star Trek warp drives are magic, blasters/turbolasers are magic, Thalaron radiation is magic, fast sublight drives that ignore time dilation is magic, Romulan cloaking devices are magic, jamming devices over millions of parsecs is magic. None of it makes any sense at all, and if we were to make it in real life, with real technology and science, it would look and behave completely differently.

The fact is, when you raise technology to Star Wars levels, basically nothing is scientifically or technologically realistic. The best you can hope to be is internally consistent.

You guys eventually convinced me to let in Star Trek tech, albeit reluctantly, and most of you have also been drawing inspiration from other universes you know better (eg WH40K). Eventually, when you keep letting more and more tech in, the consistency breaks down. I've disagreed with quite a bit of the technology you guys have introduced, but I've mostly tried to be open with non-FTL tech (largely since I've been overruled by you guys). To be frank, I'm not sure where to draw the line at this point.

Using real science, that's not possible. Not from what we understand.

My guns are completely based on real science and ballistics. All of my land vehicles are completely rooted in real science. My armor is based on real science. Everything I could understand, I've based on real science. Everything else was just ripped straight from Warhammer 40,000.

Quantum mechanics is something we just don't understand. There are a lot of mysteries and murky waters in that field. I just made some assumptions and worked with it.

You also happened to ignore some aspects of it like time dilation and how the gravity of the singularity would affect the structural integrity of your ship. Your singularity may only be less than a centimeter in diameter, but that's pretty sizeable. What you really want is half that size or less because these things are not to be trifled with. They're powerful and will destroy your ship from the inside. If you have all of this amazing technology that you claim all works, your biggest threat isn't outside the ship.

One, no, the singularity isn't one CM(I seem to remember that 1 CM is basically a black hole), the event horizon is 1CM. And, supposedly, the core works by supercharging a single graviton to singularity density. How that specifically works is classified (I have no clue how to describe how a fictional core works)

One thing that I've noticed is that things I initially opposed, like Romulan cloaking devices and Thalaron radiation, have created interesting scenarios, even though different technologies could still have a very similar effect.

However, I feel that employing a "quantum singularity" to express time dilation without exposing the ship to massive tidal forces doesn't make much sense. Not to mention that short FTL jumps are still possible, even if they're difficult, with hyperdrives (where they're called microjumps) and warp drives.

Feel free to continue your discussion; I didn't really mean to halt it.

I grew tired of debating it anyway. Using this technology can have terrible consequences for the user, but if North wants to ignore that the consequences exist, who am I to tell him no?
