Define faithless electors.

What does a referendum entail? Are people pretty much at the mercy of the parties to get that done? If so, the system ensures it's impossible.

Armed revolution seems to be an increasingly necessary option, if I'm being honest.

Trump agrees with you, apparently. (Or at least agreed in 2012, when Romney lost and early reports were announcing a popular vote-electoral college split.)

The issue with getting red states on board is why would they do it now that the Electoral College has benefited their Presidential candidate twice in under two decades? It's all well and good that the people approve of the Compact, but we live in a world where the people's opinion doesn't really matter when it comes to how government runs...it's all about what the politicians want.

I have the feeling that more fundamental issues in government are going to have to be fixed before we can tackle this one.

Define faithless electors.

Members of the electoral college that don't vote the way of their pledged candidate. (The winner of the state's popular vote. Or, in the case of Maine and Nebraska, the way of their congressional district's popular vote.)

In twenty-one states, electors are not required to vote for their pledged candidate.  The other twenty-nine have laws that either penalize faithless electors or invalidate the vote of a faithless elector. According to the Supreme Court, it is within the bounds of the Constitution for states to require a pledge from the electors, but not constitutional to require a certain vote.

Hello

So I was browsing Youtube today, and I found a new person to subscribe to! Isn't he cute? I have to admit, I found him by stumbling on his video "Want Korean Guys To Touch You?". But I watched other videos and although I don't agree with everything he believes I like that he's funny and outgoing and just out there. I have to admit, I like that he doesn't fit the Asian stereotype of being quiet and passive. I just think he'd be fun to hang out with...and yeah.

A nasty earthquake hit NZ today. (7.5 at a 15 km depth).

I've heard two people are confirmed dead, plus lots of the college (12-18 year olds) student's end of year exams in the area were canceled for the day, plus some transformers blew.

From the sounds of things the major tsunami warnings have died down, but it's still advised to stay the heck away from beaches.

It wasn't anywhere near where I live, but... dammit, I don't know.

Just cause something put you in a position of power doesn't mean you will necessarily be grateful towards it. For example many of the American founding fathers had positions in colonial offices and even colonial armies, hell George Washington was a prominent British general before the revolution, didn't mean they were in favour of the system.

But as Tau and people have said don't think he could do much to reform it if that even is what he wants.

But he's a fucking vegan, and that's unforgivable.

Had to deploy my T-baton for the first time yesterday. Some drunk asshole took a swing at my group leader and knocked him on his ass. He was the only one with a taser in a 3 man callsign so I had no other choice. I hit his legs 3 or 4 times till he fell down. He kept trying to kick us when he was down so we had to go at him with our batons till he stopped. Jesus, it was terrifying. All my time here it has been relatively peaceful. This is the first time I had to deploy any defensive tactics. It really brought it home to me. This is actually dangerous. Christ.
