It's been a busy week at work. Short story...the economy in southern West Virginia is crashing, the state budget is a mess, and people aren't going to college like they were...thus, colleges like the one I work at are having to make cuts. The good news is that the urgency of the situation has created a new atmosphere of collaboration and trying to get things done, and people feel more empowered...it's suddenly become much easier to make suggestions and take on projects that wouldn't have been been considered even a few weeks ago, which has led to a lot more work and projects for me (but the sort of work and projects I like doing).

So basically, so long as my job isn't cut, it's actually an exciting time at work...a great time to be involved in things.

Moot - is your school affiliated with the state of WV at all?  Can they offer any assistance?  I'm sure your administration is considering all of this but I'm just curious.

Well yeah, it's a state community college, but the state is $250 million in the hole, and if they decide to do anything it will be a cut in appropriations to colleges. Unfortunately, it's a situation that all colleges in the state are having to deal with...

It is unfortunate that the ANC has decided to ignore the Constitutional Court's ruling, and decided to remain firm in their support of Zuma. As much as I hate the ANC, I really, really don't want to see them lose support to the EFF, which seems to be where this is heading.

I'm honestly scared shitless.

I didn't even know that South Africa had Bolsheviks... is EFF really that big of a  threat!? 

Yes, they are. They are skilled at fuelling the rage and despair many South Africans already feel at the decline of our economy and empty promises of the ruling party. They are also overtly racist and unafraid to make public claims about driving white people from the country and off their own lands. They also regularly incite and even take part in violence and hate-crimes

Zuma's corruption and incompetence has paved the way for their rise. It seems I'll be forced to vote for the DA or even the ANC to prevent them from gaining too much support.

That's quite the statement from you, given your previous opinions of the ANC.

They are completely corrupt and incompetent, but not actively malicious. As bad as they are, the EFF are a hundred times worse. The EFF's leader, Julius Malema, views Robert Mugabe's regime as the ideal. I think you can see why I don't much like him.
