Oops, didn't realise I had to reapply! All that's sorted now, so I'll get back to the things I was doing anyway

So I got offered a spot on a committee at work...the big thing is if I accept I'll have to travel to Chicago once a year for meetings, including in June...

I.E. A raise, different hours... You know. Things that directly change because of this in a beneficial manner.

Other than being in a project that's prominent to administration...no, not really. And I wouldn't say that's a direct benefit really.

How adverse to going to Chicago are you? Some might consider it a good thing...

Well, you know I'm adverse to travel in general, even much less travel.

It's something that I won't really think much of now, but as it gets closer to time to go I'd start thinking about it more and being all worried and stuff...

So if there's no direct benefits, there are disadvantages, and you're not adverse to where you are now then why accept it?
