I went out to hear our choir leader conduct the Fauré requiem tonight. It was superb.

I began losing my hair at 23, and I can now notice it becoming thinner and thinner with each passing month. I'd better get hulking fit to pull off the Vin Diesel look, at this rate.

Strange how so small a thing can unsettle a person. Objectively, I know I just didn't luck out with the genetics lottery and inherited this from my maternal grandfather, but I'm still somewhat shy about this new reality.

I've actually been dreading the idea of my hair thinning and falling out.  My brother's hair began receeding around his mid 20s, and I've been exceptionally thankful that mine hasn't started yet.  I'm really hoping I take from my dad...who is in his late 50s and still has all of his hair.

I think hair and how we look in general is part of our identity, and when it changes in a way that we associate with aging it is unsettling because most of us find the idea of aging unsettling.

I've had a slightly different situation...earlier this year, I was sitting with my mom in a waiting room, and she plucked a white hair out of my head. It's the first one I've known of, but since then I've noticed one or two white hairs in my beard that I've cut out myself. I'm pretty sure based on both my parents that I won't really have a problem for 20 years or so and worse comes to worse it can still be dyed, but it's still unsettling...an occasional reminder that I'm aging like everyone else.

I've been noticing what looks like grey hairs forming in my beard, but I'm never entirely sure if it is...or if the light is hitting it in a way that just makes it look brighter than it is.

I've actually been seriously considering adding some more color to my hair, honestly.  I've always been fine with my hair color, but lately I've been thinking about adding some blue into it as well.  Not really bright or light blue, mainly a darker blue that still goes with my darker hair.

Have you had a lot of stress in life? I figure the cause of mine is stress of having to deal with situations in the last few years.

Similar situation. Just in case it makes you feel better, my hairline has receded from my young days but it seems to have stabilized.

I looked in the mirror just two days ago and thought to myself, "Ugh! I am gonna look terrible when my hair inevitably falls out in the future."
