I just feel like an enormous amount of pressure is being put on me to do well in the role, and I've already been written up when it was felt that I wasn't doing my absolute best.

I've only been in the role for a month, and for the little over two years I've worked here, I've never gotten a write up before.

Really? So, what can you do about it?

Sorry for my incredibly sporatic activity.  This new position at work has been majorly stressful, and I'm really beginning to regret taking that promotion.

Sorry to hear the new position isn't working out so well...it sucks how a promotion is supposed to be a good thing, but sometimes the extra work and responsibility expected turns it into a bad thing. Is there any chance you could go back to your old job?

I pitched the ballsiest, most risky idea I've ever had today to one of the directors, and was amazed to hear him not just consider it, but quite enthusiastically run with it and suggest improvements and ways to avoid pitfalls I hadn't even considered yet. Why did this astound me? Because I basically proposed changing our entire business and operational structure, which is about as ballsy as you get.

Like, I fully expected to be laughed out of the office and maybe never to be considered for another promotion again.

Perhaps this will help with your issues of boredom?

There is, but considering one person in the same position quit, and another was fired.. I don't want to leave them short a third person.  So I'll wait it out for a bit longer before I ask to go back to my old job.

In other news, I had a talk with my boss today.

Most of my stress has been centered around people in my team not working together, and some even thinking they're on a higher pedestal than the rest of us.

The person in the latter category has essentially been treating me like their subordinate as opposed to their equal, and it's been supplying both my resentment for the position as well as my anxiety.

I explained this to a couple of the ASMs that I get along with the most, they gave me some good advice, and then suggested I get with my boss, the ASM who runs the front end area.

She not only assured me that she absolutely wasn't going to tolerate what was going on...but she told me right there that if I ever had thoughts about leaving the position, she'd fire the people giving me grief before she'd let me step down.

She told me right there that she's incredibly proud of how I've been in the role and how I've grown since taking the position...as well as how much more growth she sees for me moving forward.

She wants to make me her mentee and basically help propel my journey in moving up in the company because she really believes I can go the distance.

I'm actually incredibly thankful, because to me it means a lot that my boss is wanting to actually take interest in helping me succeed.  I've never had that with a job before.
