I still absolutely adored the mohawk, and hope you will grow it back in later on. You're still cute with any hairstyle though.
This week I read Kevin O'Leary's book,
The Cold Hard Truth on Business, Money, and Life. For those that don't know, he's on the Canadian and American versions of Dragon's Den (the American version being called Shark Tank). It was such a fascinating book, it will probably be one of the few autobiographical books I ever read again...possibly because it wasn't full of drab boring details. It gave his mindset as he went from starting a small business in the basement of his house to becoming a multi-millionaire, and I found his thoughts on business fascinating.
You know, in many ways Wintreath functions as a business...not that money changes hands much (though I do appreciate our donators!), but in the way it functions. We advertise to other nations, through recruitment telegrams, and other nations come to us because they feel we can give them the best experience in NationStates. In a way, they're our stakeholders, even the ones that never touch the off-site forum, and I'm always looking to improve the value of the region to give our residents and Citizens what they came here for...the best experience in NationStates. If I don't think something will add value to the region, I don't pursue it. If we're doing something that I don't think is working out, I want to cut it. I've always been a fan of streamlining things, even going back to my first campaign in Spiritus for the Regional Assembly. When a Jarl has an idea to do something, one of the first things I ask is how the idea will improve the region, then I attempt to determine it's viability and look for ways that it can be improved.
And ultimately, my time is the most valuable thing of all. As the book stated, time is the one resource you can't acquire more of, so if it's not fun for me, I'm not going to pour my time into it. Fortunately, building and being part of an awesome community is something I find very fun.
But that is my mindset in running Wintreath the way that I do.
