Coincidentally I have gone to see the Blue Man Group twice.

As for a specific kind of math I'm interested in, I couldn't be certain because I won't get a chance to explore mathematical subspecialties until I've taken Intro Linear Algebra, Intro Differential Equations, and Intro to Sequences and Series, which for me but not most people will be fulfilled by my first semester of college.

What math classes did you take before?

I took AP Calculus AB my sophomore year, Calculus II and III my junior year, and in about a month I'll be starting Linear Algebra and Differential Equations.

How did you get to take it that early?? I've been taking the most advanced route I can and I probably won't get to take calc until my junior year.

I'm not sure why that became so, but I can tell you that it was myself and two other students in my school. I started with algebra in seventh grade, geometry in eighth, and then a combined algebra II/precalc class. AP Calc was after that, but that's the highest my high school teaches. However, the state of Wisconsin (and a few other states, if I'm aware) allows school districts to fund university classes up to eighteen credits, and so I'm taking those advanced math classes at the local community college.

I'm on a similar route here, except there's much more people taking these classes. There were maybe around 30 people in each of the three middle schools in our district who take Algebra I Honors in 7th grade, Geometry Honors in 8th, Algebra II Honors in 9th. Precalculus Honors (a combined Precalculus/Calculus A class) is said to be extremely hard, so I took Precalculus over the summer instead and am now taking AP Calculus AB as a sophomore. Our school offers AP Calculus BC but not CD, unfortunately.

Our school used to offer a Calculus III class under the name CD (to maintain consistency with the names of the other two calculus classes) but only a few people would take it, so they got rid of it. Now most of the people who take Calc BC junior year take AP Stats.

At our school, we get a ton of seniors who were advanced in previous years taking Stats. Regular stats. Not even AP.

But then again, I'd like to stop hijacking this thread with math curricula. This isn't College Confidential.

I'm on the same boat as Gerrick. I can understand some of what my more mathematically inclined friends tell me about their fields, but only if I really concentrate, and then only in the broadest of terms. I passed plain old normal maths in grade 12 with a distinction, but that's as far as I went mathematically. It didn't come all that natural to me either.

So, an actual question: Warum kannst du Deutsch sprechen?
