I'm not that sure about SMF but on most other board software it's not that hard to add another user profile field for an RP name. I'd rather that than have another topic to keep track of just to keep track of who is who.

I'm not sure allowing it to use the registered name would make much difference...how many people really know that Pengu is tredania, for example?

It's not likely that I'll touch on anything like this in the foreseeable future, given that we're using a mod that I've already hacked the shit hell out of to do what it does and to fix some early bugs we had. SMF 2.1 has a built-in mention feature that will probably be much more robust, but 2.1 has been in development for over two years...it's hard to say when they'll move beyond beta releases.

Is that the mod that allows for the box saying "Wintreath Nation", "Family Name" etc? I'm assuming that there's no room to add another field in that section?
