A Vote For Me is a Vote For You!

Greetings fellow citizens. As you probably know, I'm rather new to this region. Some of you even know me and I'm glad to call you a friend. Put our pre-existing friendship aside though, because we all know this is important. Now you might be aware that things in the Underhusen have been a bit...slow as of late. Why is this so? Maybe, for the most part, the same bunch of people that have served previously have lost the motivation that had them stoked to be there, serving this great region. Maybe they just don't have the time anymore. And of course we understand. We've been there before.

Do you know what Wintreath needs in The Underhusen? Fresh faces, new blood if you will. That's why I'm here. I look at The Underhusen and say to myself "It can be better." And it can. But why this particular person? Why me? Why some stranger? Well, why not?

During my time in NS, it has become a great interest of mine to help regions get that extra push they need to get the wheels moving again. Renegade Islands is a prime example. During the rebuild in late 2013, I came in and did my best before I even decided to apply for citizenship. Actually if I recall correctly, I was offered citizenship for being so helpful. I served in their senate and in just 2 terms got it back on its feet. And I'm still working over there. I bring that same dedication to every region I get involved in. Something about regional governments just sparks my interest. Which is odd because I don't really care much for politics.

So think it over. I'm here to help and together we can do this. Now, I haven't been specific about what I hope to achieve, but that's just it. I'm here to do what needs to be done. Of course I won't promise to fix everything instantly. That would be silly. I only promise to do my best. If elected, I'll always have time to here you out.

How do you feel about the Default Seats act that has caused so much ruckus in the last 12 hours?

I think that should just be an entrance question at this point.

Also, this has nothing to do with your campaign really, but how did you end up using NS if no interest in politics was present?

During your first moments as a citizen here at Wintreath, you personally tried to create a PM campaign not only recall one of our current Skrifa, but talked yourself as a potential replacement.  Personally, I found it to be quite untactful since a recall is something that should either be brought purely to the rest of the UH alone (since they're the ones that do recalls), or a public topic for everyone to see in the Platform should have been made.

But not only did you do this in what I'd consider an underhanded way, but throughout all of this it seemed like it was an attempt at pumping yourself up as the perfect replacement candidate before any recall and following special elections even happened.

So my question is, if you're ambitious enough to resort to tactics like this to get someone that you deem unworthy away from the Underhusen, then how can you be trusted not to take that ambitous nature and use it for your own personal gain in the Underhusen, rather than taking a role for the benefit of everyone?

Well I can see how it could be construed as laziness. However I also see the merits of it, saving a bit of time. It's a slippery slope for sure.

Well someone from my Halo clan posted about it on our forum. It looked fun so I thought "What the heck, why not?" I don't regret it.

It's simple. I'm under the impression that he wasn't adequately performing the duties required of him. So I sought support for a recall in order to do a better job.

It does seem shady, but I assure you I proceeded with the best of intentions. I've never used a position for personal gain and I won't start now. I take my jobs in NS seriously, as seriously as one should of course. I understand that such a job is a responsibility and a position in The Underhusen means you must be a civil servant.

No reason really. I suppose you could say he drew the short stick on that one. I consider Nox and Chanku friends, which is why I didn't go for them. If I did, the recall likely might have been a success though, heh.

Although I suppose given the success he's had elsewhere, one might expect him of all people not to slack off. That might have had something to do with it.

That depends...success can be built on reputation and character as much as initiative and accomplishment.

I'm curious...what would you say was your primary purpose was for becoming a Citizen? Was it to run for Underhusen? Almost all of your activity has been geared toward that goal, it seems.

Very true. As I've previously stated, in the OP of this thread:

So yes. I came here to bring some activity to The Underhusen and at the same time, do some good for this region.

If I don't win? Better luck next time then. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. I'll simply wait until next election. If I notice a state of general dissatisfaction from the other citizens, I might try for another recall. Whom will be the target of it will of course be determined by the performance of The Underhusen. I'm pressed for time even if I'm not elected. My condition makes me easily prone to chronic migraines, which really bothers me. That hasn't stopped me before though.

I find this a bit worrying. If the UH as a body doesn't work, it is frankly very corrupt to target one person, ignore the performance of friends in the same body, and then try to promote yourself as the perfect replacement. While ambition in moderation is useful, this really worries me.

And that's understandable Laurentus. Given that they are friends, I'd rather try to get them back to active duty, if they are re-elected. If either of them were to display inactivity in The Underhusen, without good reason, I'd definitely support a recall of anyone that fails to do their job, myself included. I've resigned from a government position before because I knew I wasn't up to the task. If it comes to that, I would do the same here.

I wouldn't say I'm the "perfect" replacement and I haven't claimed to be one either. Everyone has their flaws and I am no different. What I am is honest. I've never taken a dishonest approach to anything in NS. I guess you could say I'm taking a George Washington approach. "I cannot tell a lie."

Name one serious flaw that can be found in our laws and state how you would correct it.
