It has been suggested to me by somebody that we do away with the Karma system, as it seems to be becoming an issue with some people. I'm open to either keeping it as it is or removing it entirely. Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter?

Keep as is. I like it.

It's hardly a real issue, people are blowing up what effectively amounts to no impact whatsoever into something vastly important. So what you've got a little negative karma, someone disagreed with you!

Ooooookay. And that right there is why karma is an issue. Let's real talk for a second here... Karma means nothing other than a quick review of statements and behavior. The issue with the system is not it but rather that it's use keeps being given too much meaning... That's what makes it an issue...

That's just natural human nature, Reon. People will always take something like Karma so heavily because in essence it's merely a personal score for every member on the forums.

I'd rather it be kept.

Reon is right. The karma system doesn't work as an indication of the value of what people write on here and what other people think of it. It is abused in that regard.

Gov's negative karma for example is ridiculous.

It would seem the overwhelming consensus is that it be kept, and thus it will be.
