My suggestion (that I thought up of some time back, it's probably a shitty idea and wouldn't work very well):

if (notifyPM=true AND notifyEmail=true) send PM notification only, which will then be converted to email by the existing system

It's a bit more complicated than that because notifications are triggered by different scripts...for example, quoting a post triggers the notification system, which triggers a PM, which triggers the notification system again. All you can do at that point is tell it not to trigger the notification system again based on something related to the PM that's being sent.

The standalone email is related to the PM system? As in, the notification system can't send the PM without also sending that non-PM email?

What I mean is if you just base it on if whether email and PM notifications are on, then you'd block email notifications of all PMs...the call to send a PM/email from the notification system is the same as sending them through any other part of the forum.

So basically I'm trying to base it off the contents of the notification PM...if the PM is this and email notification is on, don't send the email notification.

Yeah I think that's what I was trying to say, maybe I didn't convey it clearly.

And it seems to working now, though I can't be completely sure since the system sometimes sends emails late. Thanks!

Thd double email issue could probably be solved by creating a simple variable, something like is_other_system and set it to true when the double email shouldn't occur. When the standard PM-notification code runs check and see of it is true and then set it to False or something. This would be per-user. It would be hacky, but it could work.

I don't know why...but the site is suddenly having immense loading issues on my laptop.  It'll load half the page, and then it'll take forever to load the rest.

On my phone it's not an issue though...and since normally use the wifi on my phone (and other pages load normally) I don't see why it'd be a conmection issue on my end.

So...going back to this issue, I notice it's only with Firefox that it's been having the loading issues, and it's only with the Wintreath page.  Whether it's loading a post, loading to do a reply, finishing a reply, or what have you...the page takes ages to load.  Yet other sites work just fine with no issues.

When I load it on Chrome, it loads just fine.

I think I just fixed a bug where mention notifications weren't listed on the website dropdown at all if you had both pm and email notifications disabled. I realized this was a problem after I saw I was mentioned in a post I received no notification about.

This means if you mentioned me in probably the last month, I didn't get it. Sorry. ;-;
