Hello, everyone, and welcome to signups for Wintreath's very own edition of Rupaul's Drag Race.
If you've ever seen the show, we take our best and brightest young drag queens and put them through a series of competitions to decide just who will be the next drag superstar. This time we're holding the competition in this lovely region of Wintreath, and I personally would love to see what Wintreath has to offer.
Now, I've heard tell that there may be some drag queens here who like a bit of drama. Now nobody knows more than me that drama can make excellent reality TV, but let's be honest...these queens sound like they'd do whatever it takes to make sure that some of our brightest get sent home early through means of...dare I say, sabotage. If your dress suddenly turned up with holes, or you found your Evian was replaced with basic tap, these queens were probably to blame. And so I leave it up to you, drag sleuths, to find these
Debbie Destroyers and make it through to potentially become our next drag superstar.
Of course, this is always a competition too, and only one will win. But if there's even one of those Debbie Destroyers around with you by the time there's only one of you left, we'll have no choice but to give her the win to salvage what low ratings we'll already have at that point.
The show itself will be split into two segments: Onscreen, and Offscreen.
During each onscreen segment, you'll work on your outfits for each competition while also discussing amongst each other. While it's good for ratings to use this time for the dramatic and emotional moments, it's highly encouraged that you use this time to discuss who the Debbie Destroyers in your group are. And to make things interesting, if you decide as a group who you believe is guilty of trying to bring the Dragocalypse to the show, our producers have agreed to send them home. But keep in mind that you could very well be sending an innocent queen home and depriving her of a possible win.
In the Offscreen phase, you'll each have a chance to relax without the cameras surrounding you, get some sleep, and prepare for the next segment. During this time, designated queens will be on the lookout for the Debbie Destroyers' handywork. Some of our
Ladies in Arms can choose to watch over a queen that they think is being targeted by one of those Debbie Destroyers, and protect her from their wrath. Likewise, I've also designated one queen as your
Watcher. Her job will be to report to me directly on who she is most curious about. If the chosen is a fellow Drag contestant, they can form a clique. If the chosen is a Debbie Destroyer, she can discreetly use that knowledge in the next Onscreen segment.
And I say discreetly, and that extends to all of you. Since this is a competition, and we want good ratings, that means you can't tell anyone if you're a special role. That means no hinting, suggesting, or even wording things to make people aware that you're more than just a drag contestant. In this game, you're known by your Drag persona, and nothing else. Anything else risks us losing ratings due to lack of interest in the mystery, and will likewise risk the offender being sent home.
Now, as I mentioned this is a competition, and thus there will be some challenges as well. Each Onscreen segment will be surrounding you while you're working on your next outfits. But if you see a gold star next to the next Offscreen segment, that means that a challenge will happen before the next Onscreen segment. This challenge can involve everyone, some people, or purely one person. For these latter ones, you'll choose who you want to take the challenge. Challenges can be rewarded with an extra shot in front of the camera (so an added life), insight into a Queen, security detail for a segment (aka protection from the Debbie Destroyers), complete silence for a segment (negate all powers for a segment), and various other rewards depending on the winner of the challenges.
However, in the case of challenges involving some/one person, the losing person also ups the risk that they'll be sent home. So keep this in mind when you send that person up.
Any questions? Comments? Suggestions? I look forward to seeing what Wintreath has to offer!
