The winner of the game will earn 15 Tokens, which they can use to get a free Steam Key! If the Spy wins the game, they'll get all 15 points; but if the Non-Spies win, they'll divide the Tokens among them all.

Rules and Gameplay

Spyfall is an easy-to-learn party game of bluffing, probing questions, clever answers, and suspicion.

At the start of a game of Spyfall, all players receive a PM from the host, telling them the same location — a casino, a traveling circus, a pirate ship, or even a space station — except that one player receives a PM only telling them that they are a Spy, instead. The Spy doesn’t know where they are, but wins the game if they can figure it out before they blow their cover!

A randomly selected player is chosen to go first. This player will ask any one other player a question — "Why are you dressed so strangely?" or "When was the last time we got a payday?" or anything else you can come up with, though obviously not just what the location is or what other players’ roles are — trying to guess who among them is the Spy. That player will then answer the question and then ask any other player a question. In other words, you may not ask a question to the player who asked you a question. The Spy doesn't know where he is, so he has to listen carefully. Non-Spy players want to ask questions and give answers that prove to the other players that they know where they are. But watch out! If your questions and answers are too specific, the Spy will easily guess the location and win, so you need to practice a bit of subtlety. But if your questions and answers are too generic, you might be accused of being the Spy. The Spy will also sometimes be asked questions (just like any other player would) and have to come up with questions of his own, without knowing anything about where he is! If you listened carefully to the other players, you’ll be able to come up with a plausible question or answer… hopefully.

At any time during the game, one player may accuse another of being a Spy. If a majority of the other players agree with the accusation, the game ends and the accused player has to reveal his identity. If a Non-Spy is revealed, the Spy wins; but if the Spy is uncovered, all other players win. Alternatively, if the Spy figures out where they are, they can reveal their identity and make a guess. If they're right, they win the game; but if not, the Non-Spy players win.

Since this game needs to be done before the end of the Festival, if no one has a majority accusation or if the Spy does not make a guess by Friday, August 25, then a vote will be forced.

Welcome, everyone! You all know why you are here. You all know who you are... Or do you? One of you is not who he says he is. But who?...

Just to recap, this game works by asking questions. The designated person asks a question to a specific person, who then must answer it. That person then asks somebody else a question (but not the person who asked them a question), and so forth and so on. At any time, the spy may take a guess as to where they are. If they are correct, they win, but if not, everyone else wins. On the other hand, at any time a player may claim that another is the spy, and if a majority (5) of the players vote that they think that person is the spy, that player's role is revealed. If it's the spy, the players win, but if not, the spy wins. While this may be obvious, I just want to make clear that you cannot ask another player what the location or their role is, but all other questions are on the table. Also, unless a player has stated a preference not to be notified, please use notifications when asking a question of someone so that they know it's their turn.
