As far as I'm concerned, the obvious ASOIAF theme is to be the Brotherhood Without Banners, being hunted by the Mountain's Men (who are, I suppose, Lannister men, but come on).
Further thematic development: villagers are Riverlands smallfolk, the two Guardians are Thoros and Beric, but the Avalon-esque key to their victory is Lady Stoneheart.
Thoros and Beric each have 3 powers; the generic scans and protects, as well as:
Thoros can revive Beric instead of doing a scan/protect...but doing so means he can't protect next round.
Beric auto-protects Lady Stoneheart by swapping roles with her if she is lynched. If Beric is dead, however, Lady Stoneheart cannot be protected.
Lady Stoneheart is powerless, unless both Beric and Thoros are dead. When that happens, there will be two lynchings per day (both at the same time; for reasons mentioned below, both lynchings can be targeted at the same person).
On the Mountain's side, there is The Mountain, the Tickler, and Raff.
The Mountain can survive two lynchings - he's a tough guy. He doesn't kill himself, though, unless both his men are dead. Tywin's orders and all.
The Tickler cannot kill, but he can scan targets, revealing them as either 'Brotherhood' or 'Villager'. A protected target shows as a Villager though, so he's not infallible.
Unlike the Tickler, Raff can, and happily will, kill someone every night.
For the Brotherhood and Riverlanders to win, the Mountain must die.
For the Mountain's Men to win, they must kill Lady Stoneheart. Obviously, killing Beric makes this much easier for them.
Disclaimer: I assumed a player count of 10; if there's more then there should be proportionally more roles.
